Triumph Bonneville Bobber launched at Rs. 9.09 lakh

Triumph will soon be launching the Bonneville Bobber in India. The factory custom motorcycle is expected to be introduced in the country by the end of March or early April, 2017. The British motorcycle manufacturer hasn't released an official announcement on the same yet, though a video teaser has been released, pointing towards a nearing launch.

The Bonneville Bobber gets a stripped black design theme that makes it look different from other bikes in Triumph stable. It is based on a new chassis and is equipped with a new suspension setup, while the engine has been borrowed from the Bonneville T120. The bike features minimalistic bobber design cues - a circular headlight, beefy front suspension forks, flat-type handlebars, bar-end rearview mirrors, a single seat setup, an exposed rear monoshock and a shorter exhaust with a slash cut design.

While the engine is the same 1,200 cc parallel-twin unit that powers the T120, it has been retuned to develop 76 BHP @ 6,100 rpm and 106 Nm of torque @ 4,000 rpm. This output is around 4 BHP less than the stock T120, though Triumph claims to have fiddled with the Bobber's engine setup to develop more power and torque in lower rpms. Transmission duties are handled by a 6-speed gearbox.

The bike comes with advanced features like ride-by-wire, two driving modes - Road and Rain, standard Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and traction control. Customers can also opt for additional options like cruise control and heated handlebar grips.

Launched at Rs. 9.09 lakhs (Delhi ex-showroom), 18000 more than the Bonneville T120.

Seems like a great deal. the 1200 engine is as smooth and torquey and bobber design always looks cool. Lets wait for the ride reviews now and see how it fares on the actual roads.

Absolutely beautiful bike! If only they can do something about that fugly radiator. Triumph is clearly targeting lower end Harley market with this bike.

Re: Triumph Bonneville Bobber launched at Rs. 9.09 lakh

All manufacturers and dealerships should take a leaf out of Triumph marketing and customer orientation which according to me is the best in India right now

I keep getting invites for all new launches and even Sunday brunches they host 2-3 times in a year despite me selling my Triumph back in 2014 ( I don't go as free meals are not my style)

Got an invite this morning for the Bobber Launch

Had been today evening at the Triumph Bobber Launch in Pune. Fabulous looking bike. Comes with all the electronics. To me the GC seems very less.
Waiting for the ride reports.

Re: Triumph Bonneville Bobber launched at Rs. 9.09 lakh

The Triumph Bobber was launched in Pune last evening. There were two display motorcycles, one in a Ironstone (matte finish) shade and the other in the fabulous two-tone Competition Green shade.

The Bobber is priced at INR 9.20 Lakhs ex-showroom Pune. The ground clearance is a big concern but she is a looker. She is one of those motorcycles which looks timeless. She is an art and more than regular riding, the Bobber is one motorcycle which can be parked in your living room.

It was great to meet fellow bhpians during the launch event - Monaro CV8, vaibhav amlekar, nitrogary, Happysmiles and sameer ajgaonkar.

Few pics of the motorcycles :

Re: Triumph Bonneville Bobber launched at Rs. 9.09 lakh

+ve
Looks stunning
Has abs/traction/rider modes
The seat is comfortable
Awesome build quality
Low seat height
Exhaust sounds loud/different for a stock one.

-ve
Doubtful about its touring capability. Better for 50k~100kms ride
Can be uncomfortable for really tall people..6f and up.
Single seater
Resale coz you have to find someone of similar taste/need.

Costs 11.8 lac OTR in Kerala.

Re: Triumph Bonneville Bobber launched at Rs. 9.09 lakh

Was a fan of the Bobber after seeing the unveil pics, but now that the reviews are out - I must say that I don't like the design when a person is seen riding it. The rear wheel looks so disconnected from the whole design and on a plane of it's own.

Do they have sales and service support at Trivandrum?

They do come for service every two months or so. Similar for TD.
For sales, you have to go to Cochin but you can arrange this over phone too.

Looks like I had posted the wrong video last time.

A walk-around.

Comparing T100, Bobber, Tiger.

Re: Triumph Bonneville Bobber launched at Rs. 9.09 lakh

Spotted a matte finish Bobber today on Sarjapur road. Quite a looker it is and was also very nimble. It was bought recently I think as there was no registration number yet. I liked the bike , has a mild exhaust note to it. Only con being without the rear seat it looks quite long.

Re: Triumph Bonneville Bobber launched at Rs. 9.09 lakh

The bike is great to ride and boy I love that T120/1200 HT engine. Smooth and full of torque. My biggest grouse was the suspension and the seating posture.

With just a 30mm travel, the suspension is as good as nothing on board.

The seating/ergonomics are weird and one gets super tired even after riding hardly 100kms. city riding and breakfast rides it can do....

This is a detailed review which might help - https://motohive.in/triumph-bobber-review/
