re: Triumph Bonneville Discussion Thread: My "Black Bruiser" is SOLD :( !!!

I agree with Mobike. I am similarly built to mobike and I own the DS 500. After a few km's (smooth or rough roads), the back is under tremendous stress and hurts really bad. There is also too much pressure on the forearms and wrist because of the low handle bar.

Some people have told me the RD 350 handlebar would make the ride position a lot more comfortable. I am yet to try it. Maybe someone who has can give some feedback.

I rode a few classics (short rides) with RD 350 handle bar and its certainly a huge improvement over the stock bars. More relaxed and that pressure you get on the hands are mostly off

It costs a measly 2-2.5K and that would have been my first mod

re: Triumph Bonneville Discussion Thread: My "Black Bruiser" is SOLD !!!

Note: I have to share this news with a heavy heart. Black Bruiser has found a new home

It's new owner is similar enthusiast who is getting back into riding after a long hiatus. Uncannily, he too has same professional background as me and I hope BB can give him similar amount of pleasure as it gave me.

Last 10 months and 9000kms of riding it was simply blissful !!!

Thank you all for your lovely comments and visits on this thread.

Considering this thread's popularity, I have decided to keep it open for "General Triumph Bonneville Discussions" and information/queries for prospective owners for the Bonnie !!!

Are you considering buying another big bike? Any particular models?

I am sure you must have handed him over to someone who would take good care as you did.
Sad to see otherwise a good ownership thread coming to an end.

Good and sad as well to know

What are the plans for MM ? Stays at home or is that also headed for a new home ?

Thanks for keeping the thread open. I am sure you will keep an eye on this from time to time

And don't get in to any "cult" biking please.

Best Regards & Drive Ride Safe

I think you missed a few posts before that highlighted why I sold my bike

Iam equally sad to let go of such a wonderful bike ( zero issues and utterly reliable). Infact, brake pads were in stock form when I let go of it

Ram, Maroon Marauder is already sold to a close family member. He will pick up the bike when I can afford to let go of it. Right now I need it for my bread and butter pick-up duty..LOL!

re: Triumph Bonneville Discussion Thread: My "Black Bruiser" is SOLD !!!

Avi,

it has been a pleasure reading this thread right from the time the Bonneville came on my radar as a potential bike. It helped clarify a lot of questions and played a part in me finally taking a decision to buy a Bonnie. Thanks for starting the thread and glad to hear your bike got a worthy owner.

Cheers,
Sting

Congrats on your Bonnie !! And, I wont let you go with just those nice comments. You will have to post a few pics of your bike here or even better start your ownership thread on the forum

Chain Lubrication

Recall the discussions regarding the pains of Chain Lubrication.

There are few "automatic chain olilers" in the market - price range from INR 2K to 20K.

Have a look at the following; The Scottoiler has something specific or compatible to Bonnie and other Triumph models

http://www.scottoiler.com/
http://www.pdoiler.co.uk/
http://www.tutorochainoiler.com/
http://www.loobman.co.uk/

I am sure the inventors/innovators amoung us can do an equally good job if one should put their mind to it (Arun listening ?) at the fraction of the cost.

Best Regards & Ride Safe

Ram

re: Triumph Bonneville Discussion Thread: My "Black Bruiser" is SOLD !!!

Congratulations n wish you the very best as you start a very important chapter in your life

Question - will you be updating the sale price on the used bike price thread? We have a ton of info on the karizmas, pulsars n the enfields of the world, but not so much when it comes to these bigger / aspirational / sporty motorcycles. Pity

Well, Since I already sold my bike it depends on all members to share this info on the preowned market as we go along.....
