Even Bonnie is not a speed machine but, a street machine and comparable to both Iron and Superlow.

Even though you have booked a superlow, try out a test ride of the Bonnie, iam sure it will be quite informative:)

I think i'm quite tempted to do that :)

Glad to know you liked it. Btw, its not fair that you havent started a ownership thread on forum about your Iron 883.

I urge everyone who buys these premium bikes to start a ownership thread. I beileve thats a nice way to jot down things that you can always go back and enjoy and also helps fellow members immensely

What's the issue with the handlebar position? Good to see your elbow is better now and we will get to see/read more.
Is it the bar position which causes this? Thanks for the pics, major celebrity huh , page 3 :D awesome.
The red looks lovely, never seen that color before.

There is no issue per se with the handle bar. The stock handle bar does give a sporty posture, albeit a little compact. This does put an added pressure on the elbow, straining the tendons. I was riding with the elbow band on stock bars, I was fine (relatively).

The nightster bars are wider, curvier, sportier, sexier! (not sure if I will rapped for the expletive)

Please give me time until Saturday, will post comprehensive pics of the Nightster handle bar on mine.

Don't know about you shubz , for me buying a premium bike is like a once in a life time thing. Not every one can afford to buy and sell premium vehicles very easily . Not that i regret in buying the harley , but then when you compare it with the triumph ,it makes you think on the money spend.

Then dear sir, you should do your homework well before you plonk in the big bucks. and not jump in and regret (no offense meant). Moreover it is not that Triumph wasn't around when you decided to go the Harley way.

If you aren't regretting buying the Harley, why is it sounding like a buyers remorse here?

For the others, who were keen on pics of the nightster bars, here you go. I couldnt wait until Saturday :)

I reckon that should give you the inspiration to complete your 25 posts quickly. And, also do read up the rules of the forum so your completely aware of our policies :)

Shubz I like the handle. Kind of looks a lot like the original RD handle which a lot of Bullet boys prefer. Cost?

shubz , you got a point there i didnt do my homework before buying the bike , i just got excited seeing the harley brand , and went for the kill and i still dont regret it, beacause the feeling of owning a harley was always been a dream and happy i own one .
The looks department and the feel of owning a premium bike and the fit and finish all i agree , iron is the winner . what i wanted to say is , when it comes to the ride , bonneville wins .
just a question , have you ridden a bonnevile yet?

These handlebars look a lot like the ones on the Superlow. Though these seem a little wider. Is this correct? What is the cost like? And are they available in Chrome?

Thanks Doc! The cost of the handlebar along with labor and re-doing the front brake line -- ~8000/- (before deducting the HOG officers discount *wink* ) Worth it as I now have a metal piping for the brake line.

Am glad you get my point. At no point I was trying to deride your decision. And no, I haven't ridden a Bonnie yet. It surely is a good bike. But I have my loyalties set! :)

Dhiraj - Nightster bars are dark custom make, so , No, not in chrome. only in black.

There are other handle bars in Chrome, something called Hollywood something. Wide and beautiful (and yes expansively expensive) and in black and chrome.

@Shubz,

Congrats on the Nightster bar mod. Now you get the stance and feel of riding some American Iron, right?

Don't feel so bad having bought an HD. It offers you joys in several ways.

Something I read long ago in an HD forum:

"What I love about my Sporty is that it feels faster every time I ride it."

Believe you me, there is some truth to this statement. Through the years, I have done small mods and improvements on the bike, and I swear every ride it feels a little better.

Just last week, I changed out my spark plugs, To some NGK Iridium (available locally BTW), and what a difference!!

Not that anything is wrong with a Bonnie either. But that also is it's drawback. Comes across as no character. Nothing wrong with the bike, good engine, good ride, decent brakes, etc., but nothing to write home about either.

A whole world of Harley mods is out there. Explore and enjoy!!

Cheers

Ride Safe.

Thank you sir!

So well said! Its a totally different stance/feel! totally a different character from the stock bars. Never thought a simple change of handlebar makes it feel like an entirely different bike.!

Shubz Nightster bar mod looks very neat. Did not notice it during our ride last Sunday. Hope to catch-up this week during the breakfast ride.

Also, one question, I am looking at some of the cool stuff that Sandeep is offering for Harley on his FB page. Will footboard for Sportster make sense? While it may look cool, not sure how comfortable it would be.

Expert opinion pls.

Yeah its kind of inconspicuous and doesn't stand out like a sore thumb.

I personally don't have that great an opinion. His products are indeed expensive and I have seen a couple of his products and personally haven't been too impressed. a friend of mine riding a sportster is getting a whole lot of stuff done from him. Crash guard, back rest etc. i can update you once he has it on.

please ping me your number?

Thanks
