These are stock halogen lamps doc. 5.0/4.58 Amp i.e. 60/55watts halogen bulb. They are surprisingly white with perfect illumination. These small things matter in the Harley build.

Transmission 0.95L (so Total is 3.55L and they charged me for 4L, grrr...)

Doc - Stock headlights are not HID in the current version. 2014 versions "may" come with HID on stock headlamps
8.9:1 is a pretty high CR for a supposedly lazy engine. To put into perspective, especially with the run on kerosene part (which a lot of the old Jawas did), the CR for a Std 500 Bullet is 6.5:1 (around 110-115 PSI). Even the much more advanced "high compression, lean burn" AVL Machismo 500s had a CR of 8.5:1 (around 130-135 PSI).
The other striking thing is the 42 PSI air pressure for the rear tyre. That's huge for any bike.

HID's are not making a appearance in any Sportster 2014 model even in the US. Limited only in the high end.

Thanks sir. I was just quoting what the sales guy told me at the time of my booking. Mind you - this wasn't a sales pitch, i asked about the H/L after making the booking as I saw one of the 48's in the parking lot with HID. That's why I said "may"

It won't come as stock is what I meant. You can anytime opt for a HID headlamps as a paid option on any sportster model. Costs 32K and is available even today. Though the feedback I got from one of the owners who had installed on his Superlow was not good. Here's what he emailed me -

Good choice on the helmet. Even I have the same model. The plastic quality is top notch and if kept nicely waxed like your Harley can really complement it well. My Helmet looks better than my bike on some days. Its liner is also removable and can be washed when required.
Just take care of the rivets at the rear they got rusted in just 1.5 years of use in Mangalore. Should not be a problem in Meerut and I believe you will not be riding in the rain like I have to sometimes.

Absolutely no issues on the open road and highways. But you need to be careful in the city for some of the bad speed bumps. The pillion latches on to you in the absence of a sissy bar which would be desirable if you plan to regularly ride pillion.

Thanks for the info. The sissy bar kills the looks anyway. Just wanted to know how it would be for a short rides.

I don't think so. There are a variety of sissy bars available according to one's choice. About short rides, I drive it daily to my tennis courts in the morning which is just a 1km one way drive. Most enjoyable morning drives they are.
