re: BMW planning to Launch F650GS - EDIT: Now launched at 9.99L Ex - Showroom

Just got an SMS that the BMW F650 GS is now launched at a price of 9.99L Ex - Showroom. BMW will definitely continue to find a couple of extra new homes vide their latest offering but I doubt they will ever get close the numbers Harley is continuously munching with their entry level offerings.

This 800 is frankly overpriced. because its not even the proper offroad 800GSM. It should be close to 8 lakhs at max.
The 1200GS costs 25L in Mumbai. Around 15-18 would still have been a great price given the 'quality' BMW is offering. But since we havent had any ownership report of anyone owning a BMW, cannot say much about the service, after sales etc. For that price, I would be expecting a heck more from them, as I have indeed paid the price for buying 2 bikes actually( the GS costs around 7L in the states, fully loaded)

Whats the deal you got?

The 650GS just got launched and price should be around 13-14 on road in Mumbai. Damn you BMW! Another potential bike and customer bites the dust. Take a cue from Harley guys. This is simply not done!

Re: BMW planning to Launch F650GS - EDIT: Now launched at 9.99L Ex - Showroom

Today I happen to see the BMW 650GS on display at the Navnit motors in Bangalore. The on-road price what was mentioned was Rs. 15.5 lacs. The sales executive said there were nearly 8 bookings for June and around 4 bookings for July.

The on-road price for the BMW R1200GS is around 25 lacs.

The price is high since they are imported as completely built Unit(CBU).

IMO, its a too expensive proposition when compared to Triumph or Harley.

If you check the OTR prices between Delhi & Bangalore showrooms, there is a 'substantial' difference. Is it to do with the state/road taxes?

Triumph India Prices were just suggestive or indicative prices which now have been removed from thier website. Actual prices are different.
And with regards to a harley, its a different genre of bikes which have been built differently. One cannot even think of doing offroad trips and riding without thinking of the road conditions on harleys.

Haroon: Yes there is a huge difference in the road taxes. And when I mean huge, its like a few lakhs in some states compared with a couple of thousands in other.

Re: BMW planning to Launch F650GS - EDIT: Now launched at 9.99L Ex - Showroom

Any updates on F650GS, as per my knowledge this bike is not yet certified by ARAI and worldwide it's out dated now, the new F700GS is replacing this bike.
Not sure how many pieces these dealers imported and sitting ideally on top of this out of production bike, they cant sell till they get OK from ARAI.
Can we have the count from all dealers, that how many pieces they are having currently now, and what they are planning to do with them?

You can do a check on the Bangalore and Mumbai Dealer. Keki Modi is the guy to be contacted for Navneet motors in Mumbai and Bangalore. Deutsche Motoren has none of these bikes. The managing of the Motorrad sections by both of these dealer chains has been done differently which can be seen by the way they deal with customers and prices of the products.
It has been confirmed that Deutsche has no F 650 GS bikes.

Any news about those remaining F650GS coming out with discounts? Or they are happy to keep it in their stock.

Go visit your nearest BMW Motorrad outlet, they are offering discounts on the GS. Stock clearing basically. There are 2 fully loaded yellow colour models available with Navnit Motors, Mumbai. For that price, they are a steal.
