i've myself seen a few converts from taxi to normal plates. though i know about the duty structure difference...can an expert explain how exactly its imported and why & how people convert it later?

for the longest time have heard rumors of ranjit using this route (courtesy leela palace) though all his cars sport ordinary plates.
It was, have seen the same car with normal plates, same number. It was seized and kept in the IT office till the penalty was paid.

No idea about Ranjit, but his BMW 650 was supposed to have been seized. It must be noted that you cannot dispose of the cars that easily as the car has to be retained for some time and be shown to be generating forex. The DTI have become strict and usually send decoys in to check

i know you say this tongue in cheek...but i can tell you most of the people with such fancy wheels don't like being in any media. i know a few of these people...they would be extremely annoyed to know that the cars, or for that matter any other asset they own, is being discussed at all.

why is this so? i guess we all know the most important & obvious reasons. also, unlike most of us on this forum...these people aren't really enthusiasts. they buy cars based on price, exclusivity and most often based on recommendations by friends. therefore, you wouldn't see too many of these cars being used often. the reason they buy these cars generally is to score points with their peers and generate more business.

there are really very few who know about these cars and know how to best use them.

but...they have the money and the cars...and we can only discuss till we own them

White 997 Turbos look amazing. Seen a few here. They look even better with tints.
