A Reliance 'chauffer' has come forward to take the blame. Apparently their drivers take the cars for a small 'run' when unused, at about 1.30 am

Its funny how most of the big shots always have that one driver who takes the car to limits and crashes.
Money talks.

I've heard this happens a lot. Chauffeur was perhaps nowhere near the car on the night of the accident. Paid to take the blame or whatever to shield the guy behind the wheel. It is 'extremely' probable.

And he was escorted by maybe two cars, probably to ensure his safety and that he does not do anything rash. And then to enable him to flee.

Re: Pics: Mumbai's first Aston Martin Rapides

Isn't it sane to admit the truth and settle the matter as per law as even causing death by driving is bailable offense in our country that too, on the same day
rather than
have to say "100 lies to cover the first lie", pay handsome fees to lawyers, compensation to victims, purchasing witnesses, bribing police, judge, govt. officers, media, etc. etc.
But as the case is high profile, we all know how will it proceed.
I guess the suspended sentence and social service, community work, like they get as punishment in foreign countries is better punishment than a media trial.

My personal take on this is, as we all are aware and read on various places in this forum, the roads in our country are not worthy of driving at high speeds, it always is surprising people are buying such high end cars. We are also seeing a trend where after purchasing them and completing say 5000 kms in 3-5 years, they realise the truth or after getting bored, sell the car and buy something else. So driving them was not a priority in first place. The only option left for driving them is late night, which exactly this car was also travelling when it crashed.
All this is just another statistic like BMWs, Lamborghinis, etc. to me, nothing else.

Instead bribing (there by creating unaccounted money), the driver can say its an accident, pay traffic fine & probably pay for repairs (which would be few lakshs & cheaper than paying lawyers).
But people want to show how much they can bend the rules...

Guys, are we not going seriously off topic? And are the mods happily allowing this? As such the entire country is going through with the "media trial" epidemic , let us not also get into that mind frame. Let the courts decide what is right and wrong , as is their constitutional job. Why should any of us needlessly speculate or comment ?

+1 there.
Let the law do its job. All we can do is mourn the sad fate of a British masterpiece.

Ambani's Rapide is still lying covered outside Gamdevi Police Station. Seems like the car is going to be immobile for a very long time.

He has already taken delivery of a replacement Aston I hear. So seems like this one will meet a sad end.
