As far as I know, the multi-factor is to ensure a level playing field. I think it's a rather weird rule, since we all know you can turbo to over 20psi, effectively tripling your basic power rating.

The FIA states a rule of 1.4 for turbochargers and 1.7 for superchargers. No idea why they're specified separately.

Hey all,

Spoke to AutoNova - Ahemdabad (Mitsubishi Dealer), They will be getting Blue Evo in their showroom around 28th Nov., and will be there for 10 days. They said its coming to get the feedback from their top customers, Test Drive will not be possible as its been imported as CBU and they haven't applied/got clearance from R.T.O. (I am not sure , how true it is.).

Anyways, good news for TBhpians here in gujarat, I am definately going to check it out. (Probably on 30th.) Anyone else coming there? How about a meet?

Cheers,

I think it is indeed the 2006 Evolution. Consider the below pics:

2006 Mitsubish Lancer Evolution - Supercars.Net

Thanked: Once

the lancer evo is not going to be out in india

they are promotting it for the cedia

when i went to the showroom actually i was going towards popular cars (which sells 2nd hand cars) i wanted to check out the rates and that time i stopped the car at the mitsubishi showroom and you know that why.

i asked them how much will it cost in india and they said between 30-40 lakhs and the car has been come down from japan

its not launched in india yet because it uses a different type of petorl not the unleaded or the normal speed or any of the petorl in india we got.

as cedia almost got the same looks of evo xi they told me we can make cedia like evo xi but obvious particular thing the price will go upto something 11-14 lakhs

as u see the pics they give u to test drive just upto to the end of the showroom thats where the slope ends downwards because of the different type of petrol it uses

i must say the interiors are very very nice lovely car but certainly when u see this car in real it misses the wow factor cause u paying 30-40 lakhs for the car still the car dose not looks so much costly it misses the wow factor

overally the car is excellent the over priced i guess

But the problem is that the Cedia doesn't look like the Evo XI. It has some resemblance with the Evo VII/VIII.

Evolution VII - Cars.Com

Evolution VIII - Cars.Com

Cedia - MitsubishiCars.Com

errr....you meant the evo IX, right...

and those pics....both the cars are evo VIII's....the evo VII has a different grille and intake dams, alongwith reduced wheelbase, blah, blah, blah....

check out the pic of the evo VII...

evo VII

the evo VII looks a lot like the evo IX...

and, the evo X is going to be a different ballgame altogether...but then, it'll also have the skyline GTR R35 to contend with; your guess is as good as mine, as to who who is gonna emerge trumps...

Had been to Pune for the weekend. Saw the same Evo IX (yellow) at a showroom near MG Road.

The chap there told me they were coming with a street version in India. I thought "Finally, they (mitsu) are doing the right thing". But the anticlimax was that it is the Cedia which they are trying to project as the Evo IX for India.

Anyways, the Evo was definitely hot... have got some pics on a friends cam... will try to post them asap.

Evo-ix

Hi,
i want to share my encounter with the EVO-9 , this happened in Jan-2006 , i was in pune , and i was passing by the camp area , and i came across an MITSUBISHI showroom ......
CEDIA was to be launched so i thought i would go and have a look .
But as soon as i neared the showroom i saw the EVO-IX inside.
I hurried my way inside the showroom and got the feel of the car , the MOMO steerin was really tempting , but what won my heart was the 6-speed , ULTRA SLICK gearbox.
have a look at some pics.

Awesome find Karan. I see that the car doesn't have number plates. I guess it was a show car? But its an exclusive find. Thanks for sharing the pics.
