Hey deky i saw those hummers you speak of in dehradun itself. But its not a hummer.the car was parked and i had a stroll around it.its not the hummer.very close to the hummer in design and size but its a tata vehicle.post the pics.lets see if i saw the same thing.

most of these vehicles go up to auli and mana gaon where most of the testing is done.last time on my hemkund trip i saw the mahindra AXE there on testing.it was being driven straight up the mountain making its own road.a brilliant sight to behold as it just crushed the mountain challange there.we were not allowed to take pics but were allowed by the courteous major there to see the action.

I even did a run in my 3.0L safari there on the same route.though i could just manage half way up the mountain.it was too slipperly for even the 4X4 low to cope up with.

Yeah, I was not sure thats why I said Hummer look alike. Anyways here are the pics.

All I can say is that this vehicle overtook me while I was doing 120 on the highway so it must be doing 140 or so. And it looked pretty stable.

I managed to catch him again at the toll but then he overtook me and I did not follow him.

So here are the pics

That thing looks outrightly hideous IMO. Not that I'm a big fan of Hummers, but the vehicle M&M are developing-AXE looks much better.
OT- Deky looks like you're driving an Aveo. Am i right .

Yep this is it deky.this is what was standing so silently on a road in dehradun.hehe.

Its actually a quick saving the day vehicle made by tata when thay saw what mahindra had made.they just forgot about the body design and strapped on a powerful engine to it.raised the ground clearance and there you have it.lol.but this has also been extensively tested in the mountains in auli and mana gaon now.i have info that some of these were registered as UK07XXXXX which is dehradun and were taken to auli and mana gaon for testing.same with the mahindra AXE.

This Hummer was on display by GM at the Bangalore Air Show. They seem to be lending the vehicle out for testing to various suppliers and the military to check it out

U bet I did, but was quite dark all i could see was a small steering wheel and a huge console, almost like a tank interiors. The biggest problem was that we were in quite good spirits (literally), so couldn't notice as much as I would otherwise had.

This is niether Hummer nor the AXE. It is LSV (Light Specialist Vehicle) made by Tata for the Indian Army FAV (Fast Attack Vehicle) requirement. This is currently under trials by the Indian army along with the AXE, OFB Flyer and Kaiser Vectra.

Search for the 4x4s in the Indian army thread under 4x4 & offroading section for more gyaan on this vehicle.

Yes its the HUMMER H1. It is not here on any test nor it is a test car. It belongs to a friend of mine and has come here a month back. Its waiting for its registration and we dont need to guess what the number is going to be :-). It will be seen on the streets soon. Might go to his house this sunday, will try and get pics.
