Nice cruising routes in/ around mumbai

Any thoughts on well paved and shaded stretches of road which are usually light on traffic in or around Mumbai to enjoy a pleasant weekend drive minus the hustle & bustle? Where do you take your car out for the sake of really enjoying the drive rather than getting somewhere? Not looking for the typical highway/ expressway kind of drive...

There also is the Mumbai-Ahemadabad highway. The roads are fantastic, with a good amount of bends and straights.

@7447, very few locations in Bombay, which will be sparsely populated in the daytime. You will need to venture outside the city, Amby Valley, the Nashik Road, Bhandardara, Igatpuri.

In Bombay, I can think of Madh & Marve - Link - Map also inside Borivali National Park and Palm Beach Road in New Bombay.

All the best.

PS
just came across this in place on the ecosport website, it is a place in Yeeor Hills Thane,

Also the are so nice spots on the eastern express highway near vikroli. and some parts of Ghodbunder road

Are we allowed to drive our cars inside the national park?
I thought we have to park the cars and then go inside.

Yes, atleast the last time I was there, in 2011. I paid the toll at the entrance and drove my car to the parking lot at the base of Kaneri Caves.

Thank you guys. Planning an aamby valley trip this weekend. Is it comfortable and enjoyable to drive there in an slk from a ground clearance + road width point of view?

It is comfortable to take the SLK to Aamby Valley considering we take the supercars there for a drive. I would suggest you speak to someone at the main office to get a pass to enter the place and you would enjoy yourself with the shutter bug.

There was a drag race event at Aamby over the last weekend in which a lot of super-cars showed up, all driven to the venue so you shouldn't worry about the road up there.

In-fact one of the best things about the SLK is that you can take it almost anywhere and don't have to worry about ground clearance, road conditions while still having a comparatively comfortable ride as opposed to the more 'hyper' cars (If I can call them that!)

Re: Scenic Location in and around Mumbai for SuperCar Photo shoot

If its going to be a short shoot, try the Gansoli area.
Enter Vashi main road and head straight to the dead end. Nice roads and good surrounding for clicking pics.
I have seen Old pajero and LC doing a shoot there.

Routes around Mumbai for test drives and photo shoots

I am based in Aamchi Mumbai and run a website which focuses on luxury products and services. Off late we have started reviewing luxury cars, and it surely is blissful - A German or British car an alternate weekend .

I am looking for routes which do justice to the car when it comes to driving and even make up for great photo opportunities. I have tried the favorites - Palm beach road, Mum - Poona express way, Amby Valley and Lavassa. Driving is fun on these routes but they are constantly busy and dont offer good backgrounds for shots. For eg - Vast open space of terrain for an SUV / Cross over, Winding road, etc etc.

Can you please suggest me, where would you take a German beauty for a drive / photoshoot, I am looking for a max of 250 kms one way ride, so that I can back the some day.
1) Best for sedans
2) Best for SUV's / Cross overs
3) Best for Performance cars
