Re: Supercar & Import Crashes in India

My 2 cents on the insurance aspect. Generally, the dealer or manufacturer must purchase what's called special event insurance, which is meant to protect people and the asset in case of an accident or damage during a specific event.

As far as the question asked just before, how would it be priced, it's a multiplier effect that is used. For example, if it costs 5L to insure the car for 365 days (~1400 Rs. per day), in this case since the risk is significantly higher, the insurer will charge 2-3x the premium for the event days with very strict riders (these are policy terms and conditions that are generally much more stricter than owner used vehicles) such as the car must be accompanied by a company safety driver, must never cross the speed limit on public roads, must have telematics captured at all times, etc..

Seems like a head on crash. Hope the drivers are ok. The organizers must be scratching their heads and the insurance guys would be going into hiding.

Or the other way around? The insurers must be fuming and the organisers going into hiding?
