Or hit a tall kerb while turning left due to oversteer. In that case, its the wheel that hits the kerb first before the front bumper.

Had a similar personal experience where I ended up with a punctured front left and a bent rim. I was in 1st gear btw!

I guess, a car in such a condition, cannot be loaded on a flatbed!

In Mumbai for a meeting. Spotted this covered import and another 2 in a lot next to nirlon knowledge park. One was a range rover and the other was a sports coupe. Couldn't make out the models...

Have seen this lying there for sometime now. The rims have a red lip to them. Seems like an F430 from the rear.

re: Supercar & Import Crashes in India

Going by the way the cover caves into the LHS of the car - it looks like an accident car. I doubt it would be a 430 - no reports of a 430 meeting with an accident.

I guess it would most probably be a Jap import.

it looks too small for a 430 or any super car, as v12 said it could be an asian import.

I had something similar with my 3 couple of years back , it did hit small breakers at high speed . But I could drive over 100 Km without any troubles ( except that it pulled little right ) and it was after few days when I took the car to Dealership that this assembly came off when they put the car on Lift . Shocker mount plate had sheared off due to impact , BMW replaced under goodwill warranty at that time .

re: Supercar & Import Crashes in India

This accident happened in the year 2011. I checked this forum if these snaps were posted and did not find them so decided to post these. MODS please delete if they have already been posted.

This accident happened on the ORR. The owner had just been dropped off at the airport and the driver was driving the car home. The news papers said he was driving at 120 kmph when this happened. The driver hit a divider and then spun in the air a few times before landing on the road.
The car is totaled.

Good grief! Those things weight several tons, don't they? Taking the weight on the roof looks like a really bad idea!

^^^They are not lifting it from the roof. Couple of the pics show cables running around/under the car lifting the car from the bottom.

Yup this was already seen. But the way its doglifted by the crane its causing much more damage than the crash isn't it ? The side profile is just crumpled because of those steel wires crushing it from either side . Couldn't they have used a flatbed instead ? Wonder if they dragged it midair the entire way till garage !!

No, I meant that it looks like it had been upside down during the accident, and, thinking again about the weight of those cars, it's amazing there still is any roof. Quite some build, eh?

Quite some price too, of course!

Well, now I'm confused. Maybe it didn't roll.

Take no notice of me, I'll just leave quietly...
