Yes it is, I dont think personal and business relations are mixed to hamper anything. Best of friends dont necessarily be good or better business partners. Ferrari was considering TATA as their Dealer after their bad experience with their current Dealer.

I would not be able to answer this one. I am however aware Mr.J.R.D. Tata. was fond of racing and had a Buggati and another car to do so in. The Buggati was later brought to India too and he raced the car here too.

Re: Ratan Tata's cars

Hopefully retirement will allow Mr. Tata to spend more time on his passion for cars.

Secondly, I wonder why a gentleman with exquisite taste like him has still not gotten into vintage roadsters. An E-type & XK120 would suit him so nicely

Re: Ratan Tata's cars

Mr. Tata should be the first in the country to get the new F-type. Heard he booked one the day he saw it at the Paris Motor Show.

Does he really have to do that? He could have had his the day the first model rolled out from the factory?!

The Tata's have owned some rare and fabulous vintage and classic cars in the days. I dont think there was passion for these cars by the older generations. Today i know Mr.Tata owns a 1947 Buick eight which he seldom drives. I have heard he is not fond of vintage and classic cars and hence refrained from purchasing them.

He always does this with all his cars..He books them like a normal buyer and awaits his turn for delivery.

Re: Ratan Tata's cars

I saw him yesterday rolling in his SL on Marine Drive. After half an hour, saw him again in the California. Like a Boss!

I certainly don't think the media is misinformed.

I guess this is the same car I clicked on Marine Drive back in Nov 2013.

Unless there is more than one LHD SL in BBY.

Re: Ratan Tata's cars

Looks like Mr Tata has taken delivery of a red F type. Came across this video on YouTube. Fast forward to 1:45 or so and you can see the man himself. The excitement of the people inside the car is pretty clear as well..

Re: Ratan Tata's cars

Again LHD. Why?

..couldn't help but say, that's a terribly specced F-Type. Red with tan interior is acceptable, but roof?
