Re: Luxury cars abandoned on the streets of New Delhi

Came across this link on another site, so I was looking for coverage of the the story here.

Bentleys and Aston Martins abandoned on streets of Delhi - Telegraph

This doesn't seem to be old news. This is from the British Daily Telegraph of a few days ago.

Put it this way - if the private investigators finally track down any part of the chain of an international purloinment of a car like a Ferrari Enzo, then sure as anything there will be multiple people involved. After that, whether the vehicle is recovered or not is another question - it is usually better to wait till the perps land up in a jurisdiction where laws work better.

How many of you remember the episode involving LUMAX when they had some of their people kept in state hospitaility in France a few decades ago?

And yes - most certainly there is one Enzo in India, and they made 401 of them. Not counting the mules. There is also likely a dummy Enzo/rebuilt, floating around somewhere in or around India.

Humbly submitted.
Enzo? in India?? thats the first time im hearing about it!! and what do you mean by dummy Enzo?
and didnt they make 400 enzos, and sold 399??

malq is claiming there are two enzos in India one dummy and one "real".I think what he means by dummy is that its a replica.

I am sure if there was an enzo in India one of our fellow members must have seen it and referred to it.

@malq if there are tracking devices in our car beyond our knowledge how come you know it?

Re: Stolen cars in India

Bivin, yes, an enzo in India, but currently gone underground. And they made 401 of them.

Kushan, tell you what - next time you buy a luxury car, why not demand a complete indemnity from the manufacturer declaring all transponders and receivers in the vehicle please?

Today even a stand alone printer or radio can have circuitry or provision inside to do more than just track.

And how fo I know? Let me put it this way, it was an extension of some of the work I was doing on certain biometric linked technology, and is now not a secret anymore with the authorities or the recovery people.

Sad to see the Supersport in such a state! Not sure if car is stolen or whether duties have not been paid.

Re: Stolen cars in India

That is such a disheartening sight. Is that the same black Bentley CGT-SS which was part of the CannonBall Club? Isn't the Bentleys supposed to be an official import under the dealer? Then why would the car be confiscated?

And the Rapide, I've heard of only one Rapide in the country which was here before the Official Dealer kicked into action was the the Concours Blue one which hails from Pune but this seems to be a dark shade of blue or black and hence I am a bit skeptical as to whether it was a private import or again one under the dealer's belt.

Hope the owners do the needful and take back the possession of the beauties soon! :(

Re: Stolen cars in India

Where are these exotics rotting located BTW? Under whose control are they in right now? Whats the procedure normally once these vehicles are confiscated? Are they auctioned or they continue to rot as seen in the pics

If you look carefully its a White car under a red cloth which is further covered by the grey cover. Seems like a CFS or a Panamera though could be anything lurking in there!
