Spotted this G300 D some time back from Bangalore. But it was TN-regn. The guys have fitted fake wheel arches & steps, it seems that they have made it with their locan tinker, but had good finishing. It might be pre 1986 model, as you may notice split rear doors.

Later I heard that this one is for sale, so dear friends, if anyone spot this G please inform the location from where you spot, so that I can trace out the guys & give them a offer. I'vc been searching for one for the last couple of years.

Hanmust a two door is rare indeed and the car does not appeal to me with the extra fittings done on it. my suggestion would be go to the RTO with the registration number and they would provide you with an address. if that does not work visit the mercedes workshop as i presume the car would be going there for service. hope you get the car buddy, it would be in good hands for sure.

Interesting thread.

The Force Gurkha is the latest incarnation of the G. Wagon. You just have to pay about 8 lacs or so, and you can buy it!

not "copied" : Force motors (then Bajaj Tempo) had licenses from Mercedes Benz for the Traveller and the Trax design was based on the Gelande-Wagen.

Why do you think the Force Gurkha and other 4x4 vehicles from Force are so keenly followed on this forum .

hey, hanmust, this 300 GD has been screwed up by the external fittings : also the bodyline doesnt seem to be original.

If indeed you get to locate the owner , please inspect it thoroughly and make sure the entire driveline is intact and original. This is what makes the Gelande-Wagen so much of a masterpiece.

.

the G wagen is not a rare vehicle leave alone the rarest merc. fantastic off road capabilities and trad merc quality along with a mechanical layout free from complex an troublesome electronics have made it a fav with east european armies, its manufactured by steyr puch in austria and not by mercedes if im not mistaken, the earlier trax gurkhas came with a high content of the mechanicals imported from puch

it actually depends on how much the owner perceives for his car and the condition it is in. it could range from 5 lacs upto 20lacs.

@ Hanmust get in touch with fellow members from Kal to check out the white Gwagon. you got two cars to play with now.
