Mercedes-Maybach S-Class recalled in India over a defect in the ECU Mercedes-Benz has recalled the Maybach S-Class over a possible defect in the car’s ECU software.
386 Maybach S-Class sedans sold in India are part of the recall. Cars manufactured between April 29, 2021, and January 27, 2024, are said to be affected by this issue.
According to Mercedes-Benz, the software of the ECU might not meet the current specifications, which can lead to an increase in exhaust temperature, causing damage to surrounding components like the engine wiring harness and catalytic converter.
Mercedes has said that the driver could experience a loss of propulsion without prior warning, and an increased risk of fire cannot be ruled out.
Mercedes dealerships are expected to reach out to the owners of the affected cars to notify them about the recall and to schedule an appointment to rectify the issue.
