McLaren has launched the Artura plug-in hybrid supercar in India priced at Rs 5.1 crore (ex-showroom, Delhi).



The Artura is the first series production hybrid model from McLaren. Prior to this, the Woking-based brand had offered a hybrid powertrain in two limited edition models – the P1 and Speedtail.



The McLaren Artura is based on a carbon fibre monocoque. It measures 4,539 mm in length and has a wheelbase of 2,640 mm. The car's kerb weight is 1,498 kg.



The Artura looks like a typical modern McLaren with flowing lines and large intakes. The car features butterfly doors and dual exhausts positioned in the centre of the rear fascia. Inside, it gets a digital instrument cluster and an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system.



Unlike the P1 and Speedtail, which use a V8 hybrid, the Artura is powered by an all-new 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 engine paired with a rear-mounted electric motor. The combined output is 671 BHP and 720 Nm, which is sent to the rear axle via an 8-speed automatic transmission.

The Artura comes with a 7.4 kWh battery that offers an all-electric range of 31 km and a top speed of 130 km/h. The battery can be charged from 0-80% in 2.5 hours using an external power source. The supercar has four drive modes: E-Mode, Comfort, Sport and Track. In its most aggressive setting, the Artura can clock a 0-100 km/h time of 3.0 seconds and a top speed of 330 km/h.
