It is the Maserati conspiracists who will go to any length to suggest these cars actually exist!

To my defence; read my first post here, I really like Maserati’s! I havent owned one yet, because I have never found an actual one. Sure, there are images on the Internet, even adds in the car being offered sections.

I must have posted at least 20 reports of me visiting various car shows all over Europe in the last ten years. Check them out; do you see any Maserati’s on any of my many photographs!

A friend of mine was exploring pre-owned Levante in UK. He saw mouth watering prices till he realized that they were so for a reason. Apparently any damage to a Maserati leads to such high costs of repairs that insurance companies are just signing them off as total loss even without a significant accident! Therefore, be ready to dole out significantly more in proportion to a pre-owned price when it was deemed to be too expensive to repair even for the original price .

I have driven a friends Ghibli many a times when ever I visit Cyprus. It's an overrated car and I never found this one as unique or special in anyway. It does get a lot of eyeballs from PYT's and that's about it (Maybe the purpose was this) .

Given a opportunity I'd prefer a Porsche Cayman over this at even if it's missing on 2 rear doors.

This friend just picked up a Levante as he himself got bored with this. Ghibli was just not exciting enough!!!

I honestly don't get the hate for Maserati. Maserati's are cars for people with great taste (Not many people like that). Yeah , they are overpriced . They might have a horrible build quality. But they make up for all of this when you press down the pedal and hear the beautiful Ferrari engine roar. It is a car that would make you smile every day if you appreciate it.

At the end of they day what sounds better?

" I drive a Mercedes. "

The trident logo of the Maserati car company, designed by Mario Maserati, is based on the Fountain of Neptune in Bologna's Piazza Maggiore. In 1920, one of the Maserati brothers used this symbol in the logo at the suggestion of family friend Marquis Diego de Sterlich. It was considered particularly appropriate for the sports car company due to the fact that Neptune represents strength and vigour; additionally the statue is a characteristic symbol of the company's original home city.

And I say this as a mariner. And I can honestly say I have met the guy. As was tradition on merchant ship, Neptune would visit when you passed the equator and all sailors/passengers onboard, passing the equator for the first time, had to undergo the equator first passing rites!

Could not be bothered about the price of this car, the engine on offer or whatever the reviewers of the world have to say. I will buy a Ghibli just for the way it looks.

The design has not changed all that much compared to the model that was sold almost a decade ago. The focus appears to be more on the interior than exterior.
