Mohali and a GTR ! Well .. never heard of somebody purchasing something as big as this in mohali or even near.. apart from the 7ers and the 5ers and the M classes !

R8 on the geri route . Will check it out with the Audi people tomorrow. Will update .

If there are people who can spend their dough on 7ers, how much big of a difference does it make to buy the Godzilla? Aren't they in the same price bracket? It is just a matter of taste and preferences.

Exactly what i meant !
If people had such good taste , GTR won't have been an exotic here. On a holy day in the past week , a bunch of Mercs were sold on just one day. Rather more than just a bunch. People sure do have a lot of money in punjab , but the taste factor ruins it all.

That is so true. I know of a fellow in Ludhiana, who just keeps buying white colored luxury cars! He owns a good number of Merc & BMWs!
The point is there is so much white, that his garage must be looking like a luxurious taxi stand!
Or probably he took the happydent white ads too seriously!

Thanks Shamik

How does taste factor ruins it?,beats me?
see not all want 0-100in less than 5 seconds?,and since these are bought by gentlemen in their 40's something,so it has to be a Luxo sedan rather than a Sportscar.

re: Supercars & Imports : Chandigarh

Those 40-50 year olds might have successors who like to spend money so why bot buy a jaguar XF-S instead of an E350..
Thats what i'd do.
Anyways thats just a personal opinion.

And got a good news. Porsche is doing an awesome job here.
Another Porsche out on the roads. A black 911. Not a carrera . Just a 911. It has been bought by a doctor living opposite to my home in Sector 5. Swanky car that. Black 911 with 20 inches i think.

Had a ride in the White carrera today on the geri route today ! Turbo alloys and what noise Those 6 cylinders sound sweet as hell !

I don't think Porsche makes 'just a 911'. If it's not a Carrera, it has got to be a Turbo, or perhaps a Targa. (Haven't heard of any GT2s and GT3s around so I'm assuming that it isn't either one of them.)

At the rear end there was just a 911 badge . No carrera , No turbo , no targa.

Just like this one :
Google Image Result for http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2075/2375361963_0aec554a69_o.jpg

It might just be a normal carrera . The person must have replaced the badge .

You've got it!

Porsche customers have the option of doing whatever they want to the badge at the back. Some would choose 'Carrera' and '911' while others would take the liberty of deleting it altogether.

In all probability, it's a regular Carrera or maybe a Carrera S.

EDIT: Would love to see a picture of the 911 wearing 20" wheels. What make were the wheels? Few, in India, have up-sized the wheels of a 911.

But the problem with the Porsches is that on low revs , you can barely hear them. He must be driving at 5-7 kph. It was as quiet as a graveyard at night. The Porsche soul came to life when he revved it for the gatekeeper to open the gate !

Yup they're pretty silent while doing slow speeds. Although, you do hear the unmistakable clatter of that beautiful flat-six behind you at all times. It sounds nothing like a normal car. Give it some stick, and those exhaust emit one of the most glorious sounds ever recorded in automotive history.

EDIT: I honestly prefer the sound of the Carrera's naturally-aspirated motor over the 911 Turbo's. Screamers over whooshers for me!

It sure it man. I've always preferred subtle and gradual noise rise rather than just a straight howl of the engine . Porsche sounds real nice when you rev the nuts off !
