I have driven the red one (one w/o the sunroof). I guess it has gypsy king's engine with lightened flywheel, k&n stock replacement filter, custom seats/steering and a really loud music system. Oh its a hoot to drive.

To be frank the new beetle is no match for the original. Except for the name and the 'retro styling' there is nothing 'beetlish' about it. The soul of the original is conspicuous by its absence in the new one.,

Anyways never knew that there were so many old beetles in the town. I had seen just 2 of the ones in the pics and a green one .

Ya, even I had heard about a Beetle transplanted with the Gypsy engine, but that was many years ago and at that time, I guess it was the original 1L engine, not the 1.3 one, so maybe there is one more Beetle with a transplant doing the rounds somewhere in Chd.

Also, even I never thought there were so many good examples here in Chd itself though I had seen a one or two. There are two more that I know of - one has rotten away to rust in Sec 37 and another with a front engine conversion (not sure though) is standing in Sec 21.

Regards,
Jaspreet Singh

Still, the 1:2 suits my tastes more than the 1:1. The X6 looks more of a estate on steeroids. The GT on the other hand surely means business and looks more of a 'no-nonsense' car.

At a point of time, i doubted if BMW plans to sell only the grey GT(like the one at the expo). Now when they actually did start to sell em, I see no other color but white. Nice find there buddy.
