Big shoutout to BHPian //M for helping out with this thread. Thanks a ton, man!

Former Indian Cricket captain, MS Dhoni, is a HUGE petrolhead, and has a tasteful collection of cars and motorbikes. You will find lots of SUVs in his garage, and also a wide variety of classic and modern motorbikes. Some reports say that he has more than 100 bikes in his collection. In fact, Dhoni even has a 2-storey museum dedicated to his 2-wheeler collection. The vehicles are not garage queens either. He is often seen riding many of his bikes as well as driving his cars. He has even taken his Hummer to a few cricket matches.

Dhoni's bike museum:

Here is a list of some of the cars in his garage.

Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk

Dhoni's Grand Cherokee Trackhawk is the first of its kind in India. The SUV is powered by a 6.2-litre supercharged V8 engine from the Dodge Hellcat twins producing 707 BHP and 875 Nm. The 0-100 km/h time is said to be less than 4 seconds.

Nissan 4W73

The Nissan 4W73, aka 1 ton, is based on the Dodge M37 Weapon Carrier. It has a 4.0-litre engine producing 128 BHP and 279 Nm. Dhoni got this 4-door pickup in 2019. It is said that this particular vehicle was used by the Indian armed forces.

Hummer H2
MS Dhoni's impressive car and bike collection-msd-hummer.jpg
Dhoni loves his SUVs and Indian cricketers love their Hummers (Harbhajan Singh has one as well). Dhoni's Hummer even has 'MSD' badging on it. New Zealand cricketers were photographed looking in awe from their tour bus at Dhoni's Hummer when he arrived for a cricket match.

Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow
MS Dhoni's impressive car and bike collection-msd-rolls-royce.jpg
Amidst all the SUVs is a classic Rolls-Royce. This car is said to be a Series 1 Silver Shadow - it has a V8 engine under the hood paired to a GM-sourced Hydramatic gearbox. Don't miss the dual-tone paint finish.

Audi Q7
MS Dhoni's impressive car and bike collection-msd-q7.jpg
The first generation Q7 was pretty popular among many celebrities, especially in Bollywood (due to its butch styling). This diesel Q7 belongs to the famous Indian Cricketer and comes with 3.0L V6.

Mercedes-Benz GLE

Adding to the list of SUVs is this Mercedes-Benz GLE. This is the third-generation of the M-Class and was renamed as the GLE when it received a facelift. This particular car is said to be the 350d variant.

Land Rover Freelander 2
MS Dhoni's impressive car and bike collection-freelander.jpg
This second-generation Freelander has a lot of "Ford" under the skin. The picture was taken at a MASS!

Mitsubishi Pajero SFX
MS Dhoni's impressive car and bike collection-dhoni-pajero.jpg
The workhorse off-roader has many fans in India and Dhoni seems to be one of them. Not really big on power, but pretty capable everywhere else.

Mahindra Scorpio
MS Dhoni's impressive car and bike collection-dhoni-scorpio.jpg
This modified Scorpio was gifted to Dhoni. The SUV has no roof and gets roll bars instead. On the inside, this first-generation Scorpio has 4 black captain seats. The car also has 'MS' lettering on the outside and inside.

HM Ambassador

It looks like Dhoni has gotten himself every politician's favourite ride - the Hindustan Ambassador. Here's a small glimpse of it parked next to the Freelander inside his bike museum.

Confederate Hellcat X132

This one is undoubtedly the star of his bike collection. It is from an American bike maker and features a 2.2L V2 engine producing 121 BHP and 190 Nm, paired to a 5-speed transmission. The roadster weighs 240 kg and features carbon-fibre fenders. It is said that he is the only customer in South-East Asia.

Kawasaki Ninja H2
MS Dhoni's impressive car and bike collection-ninja-h2.jpg
From Kawasaki's hypersport range, the Ninja H2 is powered by a 998cc, in-line 4-cylinder supercharged engine producing 242 BHP!! The top speed is claimed to be 295 km/h.

Harley-Davidson Fat Boy

Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14R

Yamaha Thundercat
MS Dhoni's impressive car and bike collection-thundercat.jpg
The Yamaha YZF600R, aka Thundercat, was produced between 1996 and 2007. It was powered by a 599cc engine producing around 100 BHP.

TVS Apache RR 310
MS Dhoni's impressive car and bike collection-dhoni-apache.jpg
Dhoni is the brand ambassador for TVS. The Apache RR310 shares its underpinnings with the BMW G 310 R.

BSA Gold Star
MS Dhoni's impressive car and bike collection-bsa-gold-star.jpg
The Gold Star was known to be one of the fastest bikes of the 1950s. Each bike was hand-built and came with documented dynamometer test results, so their owners knew exactly how much horsepower the bikes produced. Must say, Dhoni's garage sure is diverse.

Yamaha RD350
MS Dhoni's impressive car and bike collection-dhoni-rd350.jpg
The RD350 seems to be Dhoni's favourite bike (and that of many BHPians too). Given its iconic status, Dhoni has many RD350s in his collection. We like how he has some special Indian vehicles (like this and the Ambassador) in his collection.

Rajdoot
MS Dhoni's impressive car and bike collection-dhoni-rajdoot.jpg
This Rajdoot is said to be one of Dhoni's first bikes.

Norton Jubilee 250

Was built to commemorate Norton's Diamond Jubilee, hence the name.

TVS Apache RTR 300 FX
MS Dhoni's impressive car and bike collection-dhoni-dirt-bike.jpg
A dirt bike based on the Apache RTR. TVS gifted this to Dhoni. Observe how he's looking at the bike and you know he is a true enthusiast.

Suzuki Shogun
MS Dhoni's impressive car and bike collection-dhoni-shogun.jpg
According to Dhoni, it is the most exciting single cylinder 2-stroke bike. Yamaha RX-100 fans might disagree!

Mahindra Swaraj Tractor
MS Dhoni's impressive car and bike collection-dhoni-tractor.jpeg
Dhoni recently added this tractor to his collection for use in his farmhouse. This tractor has four-wheel drive :thumbs up.

Thread moved from the Assembly Line to the Imports Section. Thanks for sharing!

Wonderfully done as always ChiragM and //M. The Automotive Enthusiasm in MSD has been observed from the days the started his Indian Career. He seems to be fond of SUVS and Offroading as seen from his collection.

In Dhoni's own words,
"Till the full stop doesn't come, the sentence isn't complete."

Hope his love for machines doesn't let that full stop come in the foreseeable future.:D

Talk about taste, this is a garage that shows a lot of love than money! I thought he also had a well restored Yamaha RX? That bike museum is one of the best in country. You can buy dozens of classy bikes/cars, but when you build a garage like that it simply shows how passionate you are!

I believe the backstory to it is that Dhoni, during his struggling days, wanted to but couldn't afford an RD350. No wonder then that, the man bought several of these mean machines once he was able to afford them. I think the RD350 embodies several of Dhoni's traits: looks down-to-earth, has a smashing performance, and is unstoppable once it gets going (pun-intended):D

Agree, MSD has a refined taste as illustrated in his collection. One need to admire his persistence in developing such a collection as once you get famous you are always on the run with lots of distractions. Pursuing a hobby needs patience and dedication apart from money.

Wonder where he is able to tap into the full potential of his beasts, ie floor the accelerator and burn the rubber.
Note: I am an MSD fan:)

This man has TASTE. Even though my choices would a be a bit different but this man understand machines and what makes them special.

Indian classics . Check
A turbocharged Japanese monster. Check
A ridiculous 2.2L bike. Check
A SUV with a hellcat motor. Check.
Collecter automobiles. Check.
Modern Indian examples of good engineering. Check.
Custom bikes. Check.
A Japanese litre class legend. Check.

He is a true petrol head and even though I am not a cricket fan. I would really like to bump his fist and tell him his bike collection is WOW.stupid:

Beautiful collection and a great thread.

That ninja H2 takes the cake for me, what a bike to have in garage. Additionally, i really like how understated and down to world dhoni actually is, he never shows off his posessions. Cares for them like any of us would do, i saw a pic in Insta where Sakshi had posted pictures of bikes washed by Dhoni himself.

Wish him the very best to continue growing his collection like this, he is a true role model for current gen, and i hope they learn from him.

Off all the Indian sport stars and celebrities I believe MS Dhoni leads his personal life with much respect and with his own swag. His love for these moving machines is very well known, I will never forget the look on touring New Zealand cricketers when they saw Dhoni driving his Hummer
MS Dhoni's impressive car and bike collection-dhoni.jpg

I am an ardent MS Dhoni fan, easily the best wicketkeeper batsman of the modern era! And, he has a great taste in automobiles as well.

Surely, the Trackhawk and the Ninja H2 are the pick of the lot, but seeing a JONGA and Jubilee 250 in his collection speaks volumes of how good his taste is.

Thanks for the wonderful thread, rated it 5 stars.

This man has a good taste for sure. Adding a tractor to his list implies he wants anything to everything (on the ground) which has horsepower and can move!
But, I am bit surprised he has a Ninja but doesn't have a Busa, which is one of the most adored and prasied superbike!

Kudos for the wonderful work done ChiragM and //Mclap:Always wondered why there's not a separate thread on Captain Cool's garage and atlast here's one. He's more of a bike guy and he's spotted often on his wheels. A few days back, he was seen enjoying a bike ride with his daughter.

Great thread on the pride of Jharkhand
2 more from his early days

Black Mahindra Scorpio- was Dhoni's first car. He was specially allocated registration number "7" as those days 1-10 was reserved exclusively for government vehicles in Jharkhand.
As he got richer it was mostly used by his friends & B-I-L and was in very bad shape.

Royal Enfield Machismo
IIRC he bought a bunch of Machismos for his friends and they used to drive around along with his Ninja & Thundercat. Of course no helmets :deadhorse

His love for RD:"One of the senior players used to come on a powerful bike to train us in school. I loved the sound of the RD350. I guess I was hooked when I was about 13 or 14. I wanted one of my own," https://www.outlookindia.com/magazin...erspeed/231316 IIRC he bought many RD's from Kolkata Police auction.

Ninja & Thundercat were mostly grey market stuff. Cannot blame him- that was the option those days
He used to drive around a Gen 1 CBZ before making to national team, don't know about ownership
His brother uses an avenger
