Wow. How bizarre. Any idea about what led to this stone pelting? Was there some dangerous driving that riled up the locals or is this just without reason hooliganism?

Both seem equally possible if I had to hazard a guess.

I am not entirely sure but I think they had showed up to support a particular party during the 2017 elections and it was the opposition supporters who started throwing stones. Apart from these two cars there were pictures of some other luxury cars affected as well.
