any ideas on why the RR has outsold the maybach by far in india, even though the maybach had a headstart in terms of launch date, and costs about the same (not sure, though)?

Thats pretty simple. The Maybach might be more VFM, have more features.... but its NOT a Rolls !! Rolls Royce has been associated with Royalty for a very long time. The Maharajas had it... The British queen goes about in one. Its the closest probably one can come to Royalty.

There's also probably some bit of colonial hangover factor. :-)

. Even the Arnage is not bad. The Maybach has never done it for me, something does not appeal. The Maybach has also not managed to charm the Indian Audiance like RR and Bentley have.

The Final Series will do it apt justice. I'll miss it though. Great car. Had the charm that the VWs lack.

My friend from MB India had called me today to wish for Eid. So he told that he is at Delhi with this Maybach. There is a brand show at Delhi & Punjab. He hinted that a C63 AMG will be on display for the event.

I can confirm that Hanmust , as the Merc dealer here in Chandigarh told me that a brand show was happening in Ludhiana in a couple of weeks time and the C63 indeed would be on display and since I am a prospective client, I get to drive it !
Stay tuned for pictures of that happening .
