OK this is old but I just recently noticed this while I was there at the motor show.
The Black M5 doesn't have HUD!!!!! I know many people must not think its a useful addon, but believe me when I say, the HUD with the SMG transmission is like having a great engine without a gearbox!!!

Mav can you please confirm this?

The HUD is a must-have feature in my opinion. I leave it in M mode (revs & speed) all the time and never look at the speedo.

Yup the car indeed does not have an HUD.. it was one of the earlier orders when HUD was not available for India..

I don't think thats right. The White M5 which had been delivered prior to the black one AND I THINK the Interlagos Blue one did indeed have the HUD!

The interlagos blue was the very first one. and even that one dint have an HUD..

Hi,

Just spotted a steel grey M5 last night at marine drive. Was really hot and the car was being ripped at every light screeching away to glory.

Reg no was xxxxxxxxx 666.

Given the amount of money people have and the fact that Lamborghini, Maserati etc. have opened outlets, I'm surprised that there aren't more M5's in India by now.

Is it too classy and 'stealthy' a vehicle compared to the flashy cars that most nouveau riche guys like to drive??

Well the prob with the M5 is that its not too classy or stealthy.. or rather. it does not look like a sports car!! only a true enthusiast would be able to differentiate between an M5 and normal 5.. besides a Lambo or Maserati would be a real head turner.. another fact being the Indian roads.. just not good enough..
