Another classic BMW added? Saw pics in IG that he's added this BMW E12 5 Series to his collection.


The above pic was shared by Manish Asrani with following description.

India has some of the rarest classic BMWs around. Seen here is one such example of an E12. Its a 2.0 litre M10 with a performance camshaft and twin 45mm Japanese DCOE style side draft carburettors. They surely don't make them like these anymore.

Any clue on how DQ is able to identify these classics and source them : read: dealers? I've hunted for a couple myself and it's been hard.

The picture was not shot by a drone but by someone staying in the adjacent building. And yes, this was taken without their permission.

Not just that, even these pictures from the old home which are being circulated by a certain Instagram page are all shot without consent, over the walls and through the gates.

I have heard of multiple accounts where people just walk in casually and start clicking pictures, some even acting hostile when asked to leave. Some pictures are clicked by workers who were working on the property, again without any permission.

Kindly request all such posts to be kindly taken down. Guess we all can relate to how personal cars can be to an individual.

This belonged to a property developer in Devanahalli with whom I have invested in some property. Parked and unused, it was rusting around the window frames. I saw it 3-4 years later restored one Sunday morning and now here it is!!!

Thanks Anand, what would complete his exotic taste of modern classics are the Bug, Landmaster, Morris Moinor, Millicento, Standard 2000, all W series - 116,140, 124 etc, the crazy VW bus start with. Will live my dream through his classic garage. He seems to be a super smart guy with his money, this collection of his is going to start appreciating another 3-5yrs down the line. DQ man - I hope you're listening.

@volante - I'm unsure how to react to this. If I have to thank DQ and or you for this list I would assume that DQ is reading my posts while the admin would be furious about my speculation. Doesn't this guy own them all, I'm struggling hard to figure what other additions besides what I articulated earlier will make himself envious of this collection. Is there a logic to why certain cars are in the Chennai home and some in the KL home. And this question might be true to all others who have multiple garages across IN. @Volante do you also have a view of how auto techie DQ and his dad are.
