As company's second offering of 2017 in India, the Italian marque has launched the crazy Aventador S in India at a launch ceremony in Mumbai, not too long after the global unveiling in late Jan this year

The Aventador S uses the same 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12 engine as its predecessor but now dishes out 740 horsepower and 690 Nm of torque. The engine comes mated to a 7-speed ISR (Independent Shifting Rods) transmission and delivers power to all four wheels and also is the first production Lamb' to have 'four wheel steering'. The engine also revs higher than before at 8500 RPM. Not to mention you can do speeds upto 350 km/hr on one of the 'close roads' :D All this at an all India ex showroom price of 5.01cr only! Some more vital stats? 0-100 km/h in 2.9 seconds, 0-200 km/h in 8.8 seconds and 0-300 km/h in 24.2 seconds!
Am I the only one who feels like the latest Lambos look very snake-like at the front (especially the Huracan).
These new 'fangs' at the front certainly add to that look for the Aventador...
On another note - how does the pricing of the S compare to that of the Roadster?

The roadster IIRC is around 5.6cr ex showroom Delhi.
So, their naming convention now follows Apple's? Like iPhone 6s, Aventador S?
Looks menacing. But is it still on single clutch?

Yes. They are still using an AMT.

That's weird considering they are owned by Volkswagen and even a Polo has dual clutch transmission.
Any particular reason why they have stuck with single clutch transmission?

I have read somewhere that a DCT would've increased the weight by a few kilos. That maybe the reason.

This has puzzled me as well but I recall reading somewhere a long time ago that Lamborghini wants to give that "thump-thump" feel when the gears are changed, so as to mimic the feel of a manual transmission. You know the feel you get when you shift gears in a manual car especially at high speeds? They want to "mimic" that feel and hence they stuck with this setup. That is what I recall reading. This gearbox is quick , but absolutely nowhere near as fast as a DCT.

Wonder what an owner of a Lamb will feel when he has to eat the dust of a family sedan that Modiji is promoting to be manufactured here in India from 2019-2020. Is it not true that the TESLA Model S is faster than this behemoth by 0.4 seconds and which is about ten times costlier. The TESLA has more space for passengers and luggage to boot. I am already saving up for it. It gives about 520km in real world conditions on roads in England.

That's correct. This article also says the same thing. Aventador has something called an ISR, short for Independent Shifting Rods with a claimed shift time of 50 milliseconds.

The latest AventadorS to land appears to be a Coupe finished in Nero Nemesis.
Apparently going to the Poonawalla garage.
So this takes the count of AventadorS to eight including coupes and roadsters.

I can confirm that this car is not going to the Poonawalla family. So whoever has passed this information to you is incorrect.

Hence the use of the word "apparently".
So any idea which city this beast is going to?
