I guess these would be for sale since only 8 are allocated to India as per the first post in this thread.

However, there is no clarity on the same. I checked with the Mumbai BMW Infinity Motors dealership owner and was informed that they have absolutely no information on this and would not vouch for it even though they have an Active 7 hybrid due for dispatch to their showroom next month.

If govt does want to implement subsidies they need to work with car manufacturers and execute this via dealers or it's pointless to announce such sanctions if it doesn't reach the consumers.

True but sad, BMW i8 Is Getting Recalled Over Fire Hazard! claims 223 i8s will be recalled to fix the problem and only those cars manufactured between May 16 2014 and September 16 2014 are affected

According to the NHTSA, the cars sold in the US (and we’re guessing those sold in other areas of the world as well) might have a problem with an inadequate weld of a bolt to the fuel tank that attaches a ground cable between the tank itself and the vehicle chassis.

Recall campaign number 14V674000 claims that the welding process used to attach this cable is inadequate and could cause a fuel leak. In the presence of an ignition source, this could actually lead to a fire

The CBU version of the BMW i8 will be launched in India, in February 2015.

As noted in the opening post, the supercar is still facing acute supply shortage and hence the number of allotments is expected to be very few. Expected price tag of 2 Cr. INR.

Yes. This is from Gurgaon. The car is there for employee training. One more i8 is there. That's a grey and black one. Have some pics of both the cars. But I am not allowed to post them on an open forum.
