This is not the first R8 which caught fire, came across this one which burnt down last year. http://www.motorauthority.com/news/1...-toronto-video. There was one more which caught fire at the ring.

A Rs 1.8 crore Audi R8 race car caught fire and was virtually reduced to ashes near the Rajiv Gandhi Bandra-Worli Sea Link on Sunday afternoon.

You cannot blame German engineering for modifications which were done in wrong way and a negligent owner/driver who kept on revving the nuts of this car inspite of knowing it had spurted and Oil leak.

Get the facts right please.

Somethings not working for brand Audi in the recent time the Q7 incident & now the R8 catching fire :Frustrati

Remember that vento which caught fire last year? First Vento then the Q7 and now the almighty R8. VW's surely manufacturing some HOT cars!

Heard from a reliable source that the owner got a 2013 R8 that was launched recently as the replacement for this thingy today evening. The same red one that was used as the demo car. Pretty surprising but if it's true then Audi surely knows how to make its customers happy!
