Re: Chevy Camaro in Mumbai

When the Supercar section was started - it mainly had spottings and pics of the Supercars in Mumbai. Thats because most of the members and supercars were based in Mumbai. Other cities had a dedicated thread for normal imports - hence if you check the Bangalore or the Hyderabad thread, you will notice that it would have started off with Cayenne, 7 Series etc sightings. And thats why they had a dedicated thread to showcase all the imports within the city.

By and by as Team-BHP grew, so did the supercar market and now we have supercars all over India. And members from these locations post the car pics in these location specific threads.

It would be difficult to collate all the Mumbai spottings and combine them in one separate thread. In the same way it will be difficult to segregate all the model-wise spottings and combine into one separate thread.

Instead what can be done is - Where we have the thread called (example) "Laborghini Murcielago in Mumbai" - we rename it to "Lamborghini spotted in India" and all new spottings are reported there (along with the location details).

I think the one i highlighted will just kill other threads and will show only some "normal" cars in the city based thread.

Can we atleast start a new thread for Mumbai now? It will be fun to see all cars of mumbai in one thread than model specific thread.

I second Robesh's suggestion. As enthusiasts we would love to see all the supercars of Mumbai under one thread rather than having to search multiple threads. Also the real metal of the city can be showcased if we have a dedicated thread. Am sure Delhi has equal number of exotics if not more and it had a thread for itself so I dont see why Mumbai can not.

Re: Chevy Camaro in Mumbai

This is a beauty of a car and am thinking o taking one of these, but am in a dilema now as to which one to pick.

Choice is Camaro (I am a Camaro fan), Challenger, Charger or Shelby / Mustang (love the sound)

And more than anything, the check out the Black Edition of the Camaro. Want wicked? Get Black

A close cousin of the 1967 Shelby Mustang GT500 or "Eleanor" as she was referred to in the Nicolas Cage-Angelina Jolie starrer "Gone in 60 Seconds (2000)" - positioned as the epitome of desirability and conquest in the universe of car boosters. What a lineage to share! She's so hot even now; no wonder her prowess/exploits were saved for the movie's climax!

I would go for Shelby if looking for coupe or Charger in care of sedan. New Charger is much better than outgoing one as well.

Re: Chevy Camaro in Mumbai

Coming back to the topic, I saw this Camaro in Andheri market near Andheri Station on Saturday night exactly at 9 pm. It was going in the opposite direction. I could not click a pic as I wasn't expecting the Camaro in that kind of traffic. By the time I took out my cam and turned around, the Camaro disappeared in the crowd.

Another Camaro has landed and this one's here to stay, hopefully. It's an RHD Camaro Convertible. Although the there's an SS badge, I'm not too sure if this is a genuine SS. The front bumper and headlights are post-facelift, but the rear bumper and tail lights are pre-race lift. The post-facelift SS models have air vents on the hood scoop, but this clearly lacks those, so in all probability this is a 2013 (or maybe older) model.

I think I saw this car last Saturday night on the sea link towards Bandra. Had a good look at it when it stopped at the toll. On completing the toll it stopped at the side. The exhaust note was a different league alltogether.

The convertible or the coupe? The coupe was on carnet 4 yrs back, I doubt it's here again.

I really did not notice whether it was a convertible or a coupe. But it was white/silver in colour for sure.

Re: Chevy Camaro in Mumbai

Yes, I noticed that it was registered as a 2014 Toyota Commuter. Probably the Hiace was owned by the singer and now the plates have been switched to avoid registration charges. Going by how the plates are haphazardly fixed at the rear it looks like a temporary arrangement for this video (so as not to display the original plates). But the car is also being driven on the roads.

I smell Jhol (Beware: Fake registration numbers on Imported Cars (proof on Pg 3)).
