Superb and yes really cute! Like that headlamp cluster also. Little old in terms of design but they've managed a nice twin lamps arrangement.

Though it seems to be completely girlish in looks, could make some good nos for the older couples too, due to its sheer size, IMHO.

How is Daihatsu going to market it? I mean are they going to open showrooms just to sell this car only or they have some more vehicles planned for India. Any information on price?

There is one in Ahmedabad too. Same color. posted pics of it in Gujarat Thread few months ago. Pics Attached. Seems this is the same car that was here. MP registered.

Thats a cute car. The porsche / beetle style headlights and tail lamps look nice. The rear part is a tad too long IMO.

Nice cute little car - but are 660cc cars allowed to be imported into India. This however may be an old import. Anyways the Copen is not alone - it has the Honda Beat for company.

It's of the kei class sportscar in Japan and like @v12 said shares segment space with Honda beat.
Basic 2 seater tiny roadsters with a 600-800cc petrol engines that are mostly RWD and rear mid engined.
@v12- me too have the doubt,read everywhere that a car should be 2500cc+ to be eligible to be imported without homologation. Wonder which loophole exists.

My professor in Germany used to use this as his daily ride. He is in his mid 50s, taught us "Car Body Construction" and was a super lively soul.

He often described the car as having "mini kolben", meaning "mini pistons" in german.

I saw this car in Bombay,with the top down while on a 3am drive. Pretty cute. Though, since we were 4 car-mad girls ogling, the two men decided to keep at a snails-pace of 50kmph alongside my Swift all the way from nariman point to tardeo!

Suzuki to be involved in the next Gen Copen.

However, the development of the next Copen is approaching a turning point. Daihatsu's brand image has deteriorated significantly due to the fraud issue, and it may not be able to gain enough support even if it is released as is. This is because there are concerns. Therefore, an idea has emerged to involve Suzuki in a project that also involves Toyota's intentions.
