Also speedy I agree with you about BTown not having too much taste. But I can vouch for a couple of guys. Ranbir knows his cars. He's not the brightest bulb in the shack regarding them, but he's better than most. He bought the Cayenne for pure driving pleasure, but felt he needed the LR for more comfort.

There comes a point where even enthusiasts need to be practical. The S, 7, Q7, LR, LX etc are practical choices. Those who bought cayennes are full of it cuz they're regretting it now. John has a Q7, it's a diesel, but it was bought so he can be driven around to meetings and shoots.
For pleasure he has the latest Busa and the gypsy among others.

I don't believe the Bachans know anything about cars. Hell Sr AB wrote some crap in his blog firing shots at MidDay for talking about his hypocracy regarding going green.

But I must say that Devgan knows his car very well. The Maser was a calculated decision, and not a fluke (As far as I've heard)

You saw this in a documentary on SRK out of the two viz. 'The outer world of Shah Rukh Khan' & 'The inner world of Shah Rukh Khan'.

I don't remember the name of the programe, but it was like documentry only, very slow & dragging programme. Hence I havn't seen it fully.

I have seen it. In one of them he's shown in RR Silver Spirit, which belongs to a Hotel group, shot during ChakDe time. Another one, he's shown with his people (GK and In-laws, kids, sister, friends etc) escorted in Phantom in Delhi, the entourage followed in Bimmer and Lx. Seems GK has a liking for the machine (came from a friend who was off-late a salon friend to GK in Bandra suburbs).

with you on the first part SRK does not own a RR Phantom.

The comfort is any mans need and knows when he is comfortable, does not mean he knows his cars. My neice knows what is comfortable and can tell you which car she likes and she is only 7, does not mean she knows whats under the hood or any other details. This was my point.. How many really know their cars on their own without useing someone elses mind.

John has the R1, busa was sold long back. Q7 bought as lady love also has one and he has his Gypsy. He spent two times the car value to get the comfort he wanted in it. John knows his bikes very well and his knowledge on them is immense but cars he knows whats good and practicle as his friends are there to advice him on his choices.

So by writeing something on the blog and not following it does not make him less interested. Hear speeches made by our ministers then. Trust me they might not know the insides but the outsides they know their cars. Looks matter you see.

Haha Ajay knows his cars. I hope you are aware that his car was the loaded with almost all the options available without even knowing what its meant for. A person who knows his cars would opt for things essential. I met him with his car at a shoot and he himself told me its too noisy and stiff to ride in and this is not what he expected from such a high end car. Now the point was he wanted to be different from the rest (E class,Bmw etc) but ended up puting the car on the market in months. He would use his X5 more often. I was offered this car.

The Spirit and the Phantom shown belongs to someone i know and since they have something to do with Movies, SRK was driven around delhi for the promo's in it. Yes GK and SRK both have a likeing for the Phantom but would not get one for secutiry and attention the car would gather. He has his Q7 with two gaurds and a maid going to pick up his kids from school. His other hot favourite is the Bentley GT and CFS.

A few months back I was watching a show on TV where in John was driving in his Q7(it was a car show) & said that Bipasha has(at that time) a Cayennes & that he has asked her to get the Q7, So i believe he got it first.

As for Busa yeah he sold it & has an R1 which is gifted to him by Yamaha.

Btw going by what you have mentioned Speedy, he too might not really be knowing the bikes, I mean buying a Busa or an R1 or a 1000RR does not qualify one as knowledgeable person, it only shows that he likes bikes & buys the big ones as he can afford them.

She had a Q7 import for a while and then the Cayanne and now Q7 official one.
I have spoken to him on numerous occations related to bikes and he knows his stuff. The busa was and is his love, he had to get rid of it as he was the brand ambassador for yamaha. The tips he can give you to mod your bike and the places to get parts and accesaries for it should carry some weight. I remember he once told me some place in KL where i could get some part for the Busa that he required. It helped the fuel to come with more preasure to increase power. Technocrat i like only 1000cc plus bikes weather it is a cruiser or a sport. My first bike and the one i learnt on and rode the streets was a 900cc. If you do not know something on the bike or car you Google and study about it.

@ Krazyking i am not friends with Ajay. He was shooting at my place and had come in the Mazzeratti one day the next time it was only the X5. I got talking to him relateing the car. The car was then a week old. My cousin deals in cars and offered it to me. I am friends with ajays SIL. Some of the others it is work related and some are friends and family. The bottom line is none of them refuse me access to their garage as they know i love cars.
