Rants on Bangalore's traffic situation

The entire city is under prohibitory orders till September 14 as per the link shown below. Does it imply that even tomorrow will not be a working day

Drove from LBS nagar to Indiranagar defence colony and back. It was a peaceful drive. Very less traffic. Jeevanbheema nagar main road has sparse traffic. Petrol pumps were open. Few kirana shops and medical shops were open. BMTC buses were running. Empire on 80 feet was open. Managed to find a kirana shop and bought milk. Stay safe people.

Folks any idea how are things on ORR in general in Bangalore? I am driving to airport from Marathahalli in the evening today, wanted to check if its calm and safe?

As of now 4 of my friends have boarded much before schedule as the roads are totally empty and not a fly around ! This is the kind of days, I love to drop or pick someone

My workplace near Mahadevapura is considering a 'business as usual' notice for US business hours today (we were asked to WFH earlier), so ORR seems OK right now.

Your best bet is to rely on BTP Twitter feed for updates. They've been very active is posting real-time status and quashing unsubstantiated social media rumors.

I stay next to ORR at Kadubeesinahalli. No issues, quiet few private vehicles on road.

Just got an update.

We've been asked to continue WFH for tonight and tomorrow daytime except folks on BCP.

No specific reports of violence along ORR.

Just received a mail. Our office buses will start running from today evening and usual work day for tomorrow.

For a change there was absolutely no jam in the ORR near krpuram railway station. It was a breeze driving today. Probably double effect of a holiday (bakrid) Plus People staying back in house! All malls are also less crowded.

Though the roads were free, resisted the temptation to go "fast". Enjoyed the drive out today.

My son is checking my phone frequently - to see whether any SMS has come. No SMS till now and he and his friends are sadly preparing for a school day tomorrow! :-)

Today it took a meager 40 minutes to reach BTM from ITPL. Awesome weather was icing on the cake.

Rode all the way from Indiranagar to Kanakpura road till the Art of living centre and back a couple of hours ago via Koramangala, HSR, Silk board and JP Nagar. Traffic has picked up slightly as the evening set in but still eerie to see all the big shop fronts closed and lights switched off. The remnants of burnt tyre carcasses every 50 m from where the metro cash n carry is for a couple of kms bear testimony to yesterday's mayhem, but today it seemed as if nothing had happened.

I suppose things should be back to normal by tomorrow

Quick update - no news.

That is good news, I guess. I walked from HSR to Koramangala & back around 6:30 pm. Absolutely no issues. Most shops were open. Traffic was very light.

If nobody calls for a bandh we should be fine tomorrow.
