Looks like there is some VIP visit planned for the Western and Northern parts of the city.
Saw another one at Bigbazaar junction near ITPL yesterday at 5:00 PM.

Rest house road would be your best bet but again it depends on what time you get there. If its later than 11 am, finding parking anywhere around museum road, st marks road & residency road is a pain & you might be better off taking a cab/bus/metro

It might sound counter-intuitive but if you're willing to take an auto/cab for a couple kms each way, you can park at Garuda Mall on Magrath Road. You may need to account for the extra commute to/from your car but safe parking is assured.

Cheaper than an auto fare would be to park in UB city and it is a 10 min walk.

Never been there so couldn't comment on availability. Definitely closer to destination though.

Re: Rants on Bangalore's traffic situation

Not sure were else to post this query.

I need to park my car at Bangalore Cantt Station for a day from early morning to late night.
Has anyone done this there and is it safe? I was thinking of parking at the main building side parking which is across the main road.
I have a feeling, knowing these attendants and how they operate, they will charge some unheard amount when I go to pick it up.
Any inputs?

You could park somewhere on St. Marks road and walk. Or you could park inside the consulate after greasing the security's palms with Rs 50.

They had previously asked the CM what steps had been taken by the BBMP to ensure the city was pothole-free in the light of the event where police booked a case against an accident victim's family member (who was the rider of the bike) for rash and negligent riding. CM said, "Potholes are not the only reason for accidents in city. They also occur because of rash and negligent riding." He added, "Even I rode my scooter for 10 long years between 1972 and 1982. I never fell down. Potholes were always there even when I was riding my scooter. But one should not blame potholes alone for road accidents."

While I've never parked long-term at the Cantonment station parking, I feel the platform 2 (rear entrance) entry from the St.John's Church road side is much safer and sees lot lesser crazy parking and traffic. Recently, Railways has expanded the passenger services facilities and it's well lit-up too unlike the front (crossing the road is a scary experience there!).

Dear CM,

I will lend you my two wheeler for how much ever time you want. Use it for your daily commute like a common man.
Lets see how long you will survive the potholes that you think are so harmless!

I recently (in May) parked at the Platform 2 side for half a day.The charges were Rs20/- per hour. Please enquire before parking though. The attendent has a handheld device and it calculates the amount, so there isnt much of haggling to do, but please enquire before.

Did you get the receipt with the 'amount' printed from hand held device? Even last month I had to fight with them for over charging. The receipt will not mention the amount and their verbal quote for the parking charges are always double than what is displayed at the entrance.
