How does one get to Sai Vishram Business Hotel ? (Gmaps looked a bit confusing). When going from Koramangala side, should one take the elevated toll road and get off at Electronics city or go below the elevated road and make a U turn somewhere after NICE junction and then make another left U turn onto the service road?

Bommasandra (where the hotel is) is after all of Electronic City, Veerasandra signal etc. The sequence on Hosur Road is NICE junction, end of elevated road (toll booth), Veerasandra signal and then finally, Bommasandra. Looking at GMaps - you take the U-turn after Bommasandra metro station to get on the carriageway towards Bangalore, and then take a left turn after the metro station (there is an underpass to the metro line accessible from the main carriageway). The hotel is about 300m inside this road.

It is beyond the BETL flyover. With the metro work in progress, i think you need to take a U turn at Bommasandra flyover and come back. It has been quite a while since I visited the place.

As others pointed out, you can take the elevated toll.
Just make sure you are get on to the service road either at the first signal after exiting the Toll gate or take an exit soon after (near Vimaalaya hospital / college). There are barricades for quite some stretch on this road, unsure if GMaps is reliable to get on onto to the service road. Post that you can just follow GMaps.

Re: Rants on Bangalore's traffic situation

^^^^Thanks for the quick responses, found the place easily after getting down the BETL and then taking the Bommasandra industrial estate exit and then using the service road beside the metro.
The food was good too and didn’t disappoint!

Re: Rants on Bangalore's traffic situation

Had been towards Hebbal today, and saw some work on the flyover. I am confused on what expansion they can do, because the Metro line is already under construction, and no expansion can be done at that point. Or are they planning to add width on the west side of the north-bound up ramp and then some jugaad to then create space for both directions ?

Anyone with some idea of the plan for this point ?

Re: Rants on Bangalore's traffic situation

Strange thing observed today. Took Nice road from Mysore road to Hosur road. No toll was deducted!

Came via Nagwara Hebbal Aster hospital route yesterday. It was extremely slow traffic at 5pm. The ramp UP towards city was blocked and cars, two wheelers were allowed. Near military dairy farm, the left side vacant stretch without tar was also used by all vehicles for movement without leaving any gap. I remember many cabs were using it for short parking and rest. Now even buses were rushing on that leaving heavy dust behind. I have decided not to go to office for a month or two untill this gets streamlined and construction/dismantling work begins.

Re: Rants on Bangalore's traffic situation

This change in traffic flow at Hebbal will cause vehicles coming from Gorguntepalya some hardship. There will be lot of traffic going towards airport road to take a U turn back to the City.

If so much space available around, they could have done something new altogether over the existing flyover. Instead they are doing patchwork which will not help the high volume today or tomorrow in future.

Also, not sure adding more lanes on the flyover when the roads leading on either side will be of same width help.

Agree about the hardship but there is no u-turn there for Nagawara to City vehicles. The plan is that they will have to compulsorily take a right turn towards Kodigehalli, and then take the newly built u-turn (just after Fabindia) back towards Hebbal.

Further, Google may be confused by the 2W using the Nagawara to City ramp. Time they manually configure it in Maps to show that all 4W are blocked from that ramp.

Yes. That is what I meant. With more vehicles from Nagawara going towards Kodigehalli ( I mentioned this as airport) the traffic from Gorguntepalya will have to wait longer to go towards both airport and K R Puram.

You may be right here ! There would be more inflow of traffic towards airport road from Nagawara side. This would mean, more wait time at the signal for people coming from BEL circle to Nagawara. Currently this signal is manually managed and wait time during peak hours are already 10 mins or so. This would increase further

Grateful for small mercies, the new free u-turn near Fab India, which made the actual Kodigehalli signal less chaotic for airport bound traffic.

I have been taking the Hebbal crawl during evening peak hour and the traffic along Esteem mall along the loop into the city kept moving (rather crawling) without a perceivable deterioration due the additional Nagawara flow. We will know for certain in the weeks to come
