If the street is classified as a 'NO PARKING' zone then we can't blame any one if authorities starts charging cases, clamping etc.

The one reason I wish everyone shifts to electric is that at least then the illegal parking on roads menace will end.

I doubt that. My prediction is, sales of electric extension cords will increase.

Well, those who park illegally with the assistance of extension cords risk those who inconvenienced by such acts chopping off a section of said cords, rendering them unusable. Lesson would be learned quickly.

Complaint accepted

I ventured out to get some groceries and could see traffic cops in full swing in all signals around Sarjapur, HSR area. They were busy stopping helmet-less bikers, other state vehicles etc. The service lane near my place is a one-way which nobody follows. Today, cops were hiding behind a tree and catching unsuspecting bikers there. Looks like they are having to try extra hard to reach their monthly quota. The majority of these cops were not even wearing a mask also.

This is the first time I'm seeing something like this on my phone and probably will never see this again in my lifetime. Hence took a screenshot!

Needs to be printed out and framed suitably. Should also be a sticky post.

In my neighborhood, silence. Not even the birds are chirping - bird flu effect?

This one should be framed for sure.

I travel to my hometown (Hassan) every fortnight. And usually check for ETA in gmaps from Whitefield till Parle toll.

Usually the route traverse through dense traffic areas Whitefield >> ITPL >> Phoenix >> TinFactory >> Hennur >> Manyata >> Hebbal >> Yeshwanthpur Taj >> Parle toll

During peak time it usually takes 2hrs.
Even early morning drive usually takes 1hr 20 mins minimum.

And as of now, for same route it's showing hardly 50-55 mins.
Never seen such blue lines in a stretch (and 0 red) on this route, in past 5 years.
(55 mins is amazing time keeping in mind the narrow roads and diversions on the route because of metro construction, road blocks, white topping etc)

Wish I get such ETA during my regular commute days as well.

Will surely save this screenshot for years to come.

Re: Rants on Bangalore's traffic situation

Just reached Bangalore from Mysore in 90 mins. Never in my life have I reached so fast and I doubt I would in future too :-) Absolutely no traffic till Ramanagaram. Then onwards multiple diversions due to road widening and broken roads/humps near metro construction slowed me down. Else would have reached even sooner!

Re: Rants on Bangalore's traffic situation

Look at the traffic on the road guys, Isn't that something that we always dream of.

Thanks to the Work From Home gala that is going on. Just imagine, if these WFH turns out to be successful and productive for the companies and then the companies potentially leverage this model forever, wouldn't that be the best thing that we can ask for curbing the traffic pandemonium.

Downside if that happens, We will end up closing this thread.

May not happen at the current scale (WFH on a war-footing is bringing its own challenges), but it definitely looks like companies will look at moving a good chunk of non-essential staff without location restrictions out of large campuses on ORR. It always made sense in a lot of ways logistics-wise, and from the most important one that'll capture everyone's attention: Cost. Current situation has just provided the nudge everyone needed to get going.

Potential long-term blessing in a pandemic wrapper. Strange times.

Re: Rants on Bangalore's traffic situation

Have been getting lot of videos on Cops beating innocent people for coming out in public.

Is it safe to travel in and around Bangalore? Any restrictions on that too?

I need to travel for a legitimate reason (medical) within city, I will be taking the following precautions
1. Carry the Doctor's prescription for my mother
2. Have the nurse whom I have to ferry today carry her official papers and badge and wear her coat.
3. Tweet to the Bangalore commissioner of police that I will be traveling
