Don't believe Google maps Implicitly either- last year when silk Board & Koramangala were flooded and impassable, maps was showing the flooded areas in blue - meaning absolutely no issues.

Obviously because no vehicles were there where it was flooded and had stopped/ been blocked by the flood a few meters before.

BUT they have messed up the already congested road. They have created a mega size hump - if I may call it that - below which is the drain. After magic boxes on Bellary road, this seems to be the new trend.
Thanks for the update.
These "humps" are culverts, the concreted portions over the drains that run across roads. One more such culvert has come up bang in the middle of BEML/Thippasandra main road after the recent work. I'm guessing that place will be a bad traffic spot very soon once the road is thrown open to larger vehicles like buses that are currently deviated via Bima Nagar main road.

Avoid going through Varthur, whole day today and evening/night on 14th Feb. Expect heavy traffic on both these days

When you chart a route out to a destination, then blue is clean/ low traffic. Green shows free flow when there is no route mapped.

Re: Rants on Bangalore's traffic situation

Major traffic jam at hosur road, madiwala check post, tavarakere side. There are some road blocks on Adugodi side and this is the root cause.

Re: Rants on Bangalore's traffic situation

Note a very pleasent day. Saw an accident at Veerasandra between a Tipper truck and a bike. And on closer look also found a dead body under the truck :(. Looks like the RTA had happened during the early hours and people did not notice the dead body under the truck. Called 100 and informed the police off the same. By the time I crossed the BETL Elec.City Traffic PS called me and double checked the message.

My understanding is that the Adugodi Main road was blocked for all traffic. And due to this vehicles from city side all started trying to go East & Southwards via Diary circle. Vehicles coming from Hosur side also had to go via Diary circle, Mico "Bunde" etc to enter the city.

It was at around 0850Hrs that the Traffic Police decided to open the Adugodi Main road for LMV and two wheelers. By then Dairy Circle, Tavarakere, Madivala Check post areas were all jam packed.

The temple festival, AFAIK is at Varthur (another one street highway ).

Re: Rants on Bangalore's traffic situation

The blocks on Hosur road are due to transportation of a monolith. I had the good fortune of seeing it on Sunday afternoon and the crowds around it. Thankfully it was not on the highway at the time.

Will be going towards Salem tomo. Will leave early around 6:30am. Is the ecity expressway work in progress? Should I take the expressway?

Re: Rants on Bangalore's traffic situation

Major jam on all roads leading to Sony world Koramangala.
Jam has extended to Koramangala water tank signal.

Stuck in the same place for 20mins now.
Find alternate routes and plan accordingly.

I am talking about the monolithic idol of Viswaroopa Mahavishnu for the Kothandaramaswami Charitable Trust. That was the truck I saw on Sunday.
