there are quiet a lot of groups in India who carries knife with them.either on religious matter or for personal security to traditions.
I learned Syrian Catholic men(many of them) of Meenachil and Pala(Kottayam, kerala) carried Pichaathi/Kathaari(knife) until 2-3 decades back.It was for self defense and also for "show off" purpose.

Don't you feel the boot is quite a distance to cover in an emergency?
I unlock the steer lock and keep it behind the gear lever.

Gd, what's the problem with pepper spray? Small cans and they'd do the job well!

Surprising to see the fellows selling arms like this. These could be misused (I guess thats what they are for).

Wonder what the cops are doing.

Why on earth would you want a sword, a real one I suppose you are looking for. Planning to start a mutiny.
Might be worthwhile asking Dr Mallaya too.

Not for a mutiny, I am looking for a real one.

Sword was one of the things that fascinated me for the past few years & it was time I got one which will be eventually hung up in my house. But I never knew that legalities associated with it.

On legality

AFAIK, the legal size is 9 inches x 2 inches (blade length x breadth) with exceptions for agricultural/household tools.

If one can get away by saying "Sir, I use this sword to chop vegetables" is questionable though.
