And many of the above languages I cannot speak properly. That is an unfair comparison. Please do not compare me to some great people, it is insulting to their honour.
Sam,
I am not comparing you to anyone but just mentioning some of those in the list. I am sorry it it hurt you. I have edited my post.

Surati and Kathiyawadi may be dialects of Gujrati, it does not meant that it is easy to understand. Its like Konkani and Malwani are dialects of Marathi but still i can not speak or understand Konkani and Malwani.

Waiting for jail episode.

Congrats Sam! Getting married now is just a certificate, for in your heart you are already married.
Waiting eagerly for your next installment.
Just out of curiosity, I searched for Yeti in Munich Jail in Google, and one of the first links was related to Munich Zoo

Aha! It will be nice to hear the tale again! You'd treated the Kochi TBHPians to this one where you were here for the opening of the JBL Store.

EDIT: Just saw the photos. Very un-Yeti-like

YetiBlog® - Munich, Monday, 1996

Now if everyone has quite finished...
Quote:
And now my story begins.
Footloose and fancy free in Munich. Now what?

I did not have Pia's number, but I had her address from the letters I'd written. I had Martina's phone number and I'd already written to her saying I'd be there someday.

I had no schedule and couldn't provide dates.

Martina's number is on auto-mailbox. Wilkommen bei blah blah blah. I try a few times in the morning and then again in the afternoon. No response.
Ah well, it matters not. I have till wednesday to meet them. So what shall we do today. I walk around a bit, try out a few beers in the sun and while I'm in the bus, see the BMW museum.

OK. Time to get off. I buy myself a ticket.

YetiBlog® - Munich, my father and jail.-munich2_l.jpg

I spend a few hours in there. Its a great time. I design a car, watch it being painted (all virtual) and then even do a virtual test drive. Fascinating.

Later in the U-Bahn, I spot a station that has the same same as Pia's address. Fancy that! I get off and find Pia's house.
She is home and pleasantly shocked to see me. We have a wonderful chat and some coffee and then I leave. Martina didn't know when I was coming and she's out of Munich for work. She'll be upset to know that we missed each other.
I leave Pia's, promising to meet again in the next day or two.

I return to the hotel. Dad is fuming.

What now?
Its a MONDAY!! All the bloody museums are CLOSED!
Oh.
What a waste of a day. What a stupid city. Did you meet your friends?
I met Pia. Martina's not in Munich.
What?!
Well, how was she to know what date I'll be here? Besides I spent most of the day at BMW.

He softens a little when he hears my voice. I knew coming here was a stupid idea.
Calm down Pa. We'll walk around city tomorrow. It's beautiful - Munich. Let me tell you what I saw today...

YetiBlog® - Munich, Tuesday, 1996 - Disaster Strikes!

Our hotel is close to the Englischer Garten. The sun is out and it is a beautiful day in Munich the next morning, even though it is a bit cold. After a quick breakfast we cross the road and enter the garden. It is absolutely gorgeous.

Walking to the centre of the park we come to the FKK area. Unexpectedly we're surrounded by a few brave naked people reading, sunbathing, relaxing or playing games and sports by the river. We stay a few minutes to watch a few surf on their boards against the river. It is truly wonderful.
Feeling a bit odd there, considering we're fully dressed, we walk on and spend some time in this beautiful park.
Suddenly the sun is gone, the wind blows, the clouds collect and before one can get his hat on, it starts raining and it gets very cold. If there's one thing you can rely on, it is the fact that German weather is unreliable.

When we leave the park, my father and I are involved in a conversation, deep and animated. We approach the road and hear a faint horn in the distance.

This is a Stadtbahn, a broad road and the cars are very quick. We both look to our right instinctively and see no car. Of course not.

We should have looked left.

I hear a loud horn and screeching and a distinct thud thud of the ABS. By the time I turn left it is too late. A large Audi 4 door car (I don't know which, but I guess today it would be called an A6) is hurtling towards us. I jump back but Dad is one step ahead on the wet road.

I see my Dad's eyes widen as he is paralyzed with shock. The Audi hits him. The ABS has kicked in and it is about to stop, but not quite.
It hits my father and he is sprawled over the hood of the car.

The car has now stopped. So has my heart.

To be continued.

Sam - You do have a flair for story telling. You really keep it taut and full of suspense, keep folks wanting more. Can't wait to hear the rest.
