Sam, actually am in office today to meet up with our project deadline. This is the first time I am reading your story and I was instantly hooked, I just could not stop reading till I completed the entire story. That is some writing skill you have, keeping one involved so deeply takes some talent. Looking forward to your first book.

Much more than that: Quite brilliant, I'd say! And full of subtle humour.

Many thanks for the explanation

I like it so much I'm adapting it and adopting it (at least for a while) as a signature! I knew I had some sort of affinity with that word as soon as I saw it

Nevermind Hübbelbummler, this morning Jenny told me she was going to bake a cake called Guglhupf.

This is a Guglhupf.

Gugl is pronounced almost like Google. Google-hoopf. Guglhupf. So cute haha. Who said German is a harsh language?

Ach so let us get on to the Hübbelbummler and then we shall eat some Guglhupf.

I stay quite close, Sam. May I share some of your Guglhupf too? It looks very inviting.

Nice to meet you, TheOne® !

I read your Europe travelogue. It was very well written. So I thought let me search for your other threads thinking it will make a good read. And what have I stumbled into? Amazing write ups! Airline, airport, cabin crew, travel reviews. English lessons. My my, I was glued to this thread. Surely will track (LOL stalk?) all your threads.

Two questions:

1. Are you someway involved in TBHP management? You mention an email address (starts with s ends with m@team-bhp.com). Just asking.

2. In your Europe travelogue, you mention that Jenny is famous over there. Curious to know more about that.(I'm a newbie here so am not aware much about members).

Once again, kudos Sam. Looking forward to many more articles.

Thank you for your kind words. They are the reason I write at all.

In a way we are all part of Team-BHP management.

But if you are asking if I am part of the Team-BHP support team, I am not. They mostly tolerate me and my excesses (but not always, as you can see from the 7 point infraction against my name, lol)

Why do I have 5 stars under my name and an email address amongst other privileges?
You can find the answer here. http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/announ...ed-bhpian.html

Jenny is the most famous woman in the world. To me.

In her little town there are not so many people - only 30,000. And she has grown up there, in a closed community - but has chosen to go out and see the world with her own eyes.
She has also chosen to live in India for the sake of love.

This makes her very interesting to the people that know her in her town, especially those who have not seen the world.

I hope I have answered your questions and once again, thanks for enjoying my writing.

Ah well, I need to add my little bit here. It is not so much my way of living etc. and I would not call myself famous either lol. It is actually that my Dad was born and raised in that town and his lived there ever since. For more than 60 years now, same goes for his Dad too, I believe. Because of this and because of the range of hobbies and activities he is involved in our family is well-know to many (not all, of course) in Bad Nauheim. And sure enough you bump into people when you are in town, especially when there is a festival going on. You can't avoid it, haha, and then people want to know how you are, what is new etc. etc.

Like Ashwin, I am also a newbie to this delightful forum but, man, I was blown off and humbled by Sam's ability to pen his thoughts in a captivating and honest manner! I am not sure how many of us will be so honest and tru to ourselves when we go about describing such incidents in our life. Kudos to you, Sam. One more thing which got me hooked on to your memoirs is the way your relationship has grown with Jenny! Maam...both of you make a wonderful couple!!

Enjoy and all the best for a stupendous life ahead!

I am going to spend this weekend culling out all the blogs of Sam for inspiration since I also share his love for writing. Great work, Sam and Jenny!

Cheers

I read your story. Was quite interesting and well written.

Hows your father doing and did the vacation help you in reconnecting with him?

Thanks.

He is well. And yes we were able to reconnect on many levels. Unfortunately he never went to Germany again, something we will have to remedy soon.
