A terrible thing to happen. But glad that you got away without any harm to yourself. I have never come across/heard a situation like this on a public road. This is just like the movies.

That guy must be pretty strong to have been able to crack the windshied with his palm. Bangalore is fast becoming notorious for such incidents. I think the Bangalore police need a wallop on their back sides.

Yes rjstyles, gone are the days of calling our city as cultured. Booming real estate, easy access to big money and inefficiency on the part of police have made it a 'free for all' city... get away with anything... and.. the clout is increasing.

Road rage is present is all over our country and being calm helps most of the times, thats a different issue altogether. But here in Bangalore the autos and the call centre cabs rule the roads. They care a damn about the rules, the cops and anything else on the road and keep shoving their way around. Not sure where are we all heading to..its high time the cops get cracking on these offenders.

Sorry to hear that my friend, and glad to know that you are safe. You acted right, being alone in your car. But I can't supress this feeling - why should we bear all this? Are we becoming slaves who live in the mercy of some thugs? Can TBHP do anything on this a s a team? How about registering a complaint in Redirecting to Safer India website... ? Can the IT and other companies join together and file a mass petition? I know typing this is easy, but can anything be done? I am gonna try real hard for a gun.

yaa budddy ..thanks for the advise....

Amitoj, Just forget it and move on. If that half bottle helps u forget, thats good !!

Looks like Bangalore is becoming a war zone with the politicians hijacking the "Kannada" bandwagon for their own benefit. Remember the scene when actor Raj Kumar died.

There was a time when Rowdies in Bangalore (they always existed) left common people alone. But now half guys on Bangalore roads act like rowdies.

Just yesterday some business visitors from Bangalore told me how one of them was attacked/slapped/chased by a group of auto drivers for asking directions in a little accented Kannada. They even tried burning his scooter, but he managed to get away along with vehicle thanks to his martial arts skill. It was during normal times, no special Kannada agitation was being held. What the hell is happening in Bangalore?

Absolutely right. People nowadays are losing patience for each and every thing. As Hogenakkal row is still fresh in people's mind, people especially auto drivers and pro kannada activists tend to lose temper if they see anybody speaking in languages other than Kannada. I'am living in this city since my birth. Don't know where we are heading to...

amitoj, bro really sorry to hear this...this kind of situation always scares me...

Guys lets not club rowdyism and kannada....have heard of so many instances where the locals(Kannadigas) got into trouble...

Rowdy's don't care about any language or religion... they just wait for situations where they can make use of it!

Talking about language prob... tell me in which state there is no issue? In every state there are such morons ....and in every metro these kind of incidents have started to surface!

i guess couple of year back was going towards banaswadi was on my bull, on ramurtynagar signal(there was no under pass then) a "sumo"(5-6guys in it) hit a scooter, i think vespa(couple). this occurred when the traffic was moving slowly, could make out from the way the sumo guys were driving that they were looking for some trouble.... the scooter guy started to shout at them ( in hindi).. the guys in sumo were talking in kannada and tamil....as the situation got lil tensed....to scooter guys luck, few from sumo were very impressed with my bike and were asking about( what millage, the standard question... this took away their attention from that guy...also some time, so by the time they wanted to to get down and do some harm to this guy the traffic started to move...

Lastly, i think everyone has to be vigilant esp towards evening hours...

Smart fellow! look at his evil mind, he damaged your key in front of your eyes without you knowing. This is bad. Good that you managed to get it in.

Young blood! Many a times you hear in the news that the autowalas commit crime (Esp. murder) It might not be every one but there is definitely a small percentage. Pray God that you don't get the opportunity to encounter one of them because they don't really mind to take the next step.

Very sad to hear about it amitoj, glad that you are safe, now a days I hardly travel in Bangalore city aproximately 350km per month even I have full time driver.

My new driver who joined me 2 weeks back having fun time here. Since he is cool driver with 16 years of driving experience with excellant knowledge about automobile.

Already he saw many such incident when my car is parked and he is waiting with it.

1. When I came out from METRO yeshwantpur with my friends after their shopping he told me in front of him quallis guy banged NHC and escaped from the scene. Poor kid waiting in the NHC cried because kids have to wait out side METRO.

2. Lady banged another car in parking lot in front of security in banashankari big bazar, she is not ready to stop.

3. Near my office when my car is parked wagonR came and poor driver who is learning not able to park his wagonR between my Matiz and Alto. My driver came and tried to help him but no use and by the time confused cycle guy came fell on my car because wagonR went left/right/back/front while parking.

My driver told me like he is laughing himself why these people who don't know driving properly are on roads and they try to act too smart.

Take my example only even I can drive I always have full time working driver for me the reason according to me only specialist qualifies to handle the particular, I will do for what I am qualified.

Even in your incident If there is rule void the license of such rowdies (actually most of them are not they act like they are BOSS on the road) immediately many issues like this will be sorted out within no time.

People who know half driving will get alert and they will be extreme carefull.

People wo don't have patience and don't have appropriate skills and can afford hire driver so it helps one poor guy to live his life.

Please inform the police with vehicle number and detials what all you know about such idiot people about the incident even If you are not going to take it serious but just try to inform them.

If you ask me Bangalore it still safe place but from last couple of years its becoming unsafe very fast. And its few outsiders I have observerd here from whom bad minds started and it applies to every city. The reason such people show carelessness in their life style and it affects locals too much. To tackle this many rowdies give birth
and attacking on people turns out to be their life style.

People are loosing patience ( mainly people who work for long hours ) while driving, I have seen many well educated techies driving their car so bad. When local guy see such things he will feel so bad thinking Bangalore is getting worse because of few such irresponsible public and bad minds starts at that point.

Its sad that they attack Honest guys instead of actual culprits.

Regards,

Ravi.
