What is even more shocking is that.. in Mild traffic when a car is being attacked.. no one questioned or offered help.. Disgusting.

Thank God your safe...In situations like these the best thing is to get out of the place as quickly as possible unless you are armed or with friends and can hit back.

Few days back at 23:30 opposite Empire hotel on Museum Road I had a drunk beggar next to my car who started hitting on the drivers window with his hand. The traffic was moving really slowly and there were some idiots who had parked their car on the road and gone inside Empire to have dinner, hence I could not move my car. I was in a half a mind to get out and whack the beggar but by then the security guard chased him away.

Thanks for all your support and understanding, guys.
Two things seem to help a lot after such experiences:
a. Your kind words
b. Half a bottle of good scotch

That guy must have been an absolute nutter to think his fist can win an argument with a car windscreen. the impact probably damaged him more than it did your car.

Good think he didn't have a chance to get to your face.

Scary situation. Good to know that nothing happened to you,Amitoj.
There's really nothing one could do in a senario like this. Unless you had atleast 1-2 other able-bodied individuals with you.

Gosh! The more I read about these things, the scarier its getting for me to picture myself in such situations.

Those guys may be carrying AK-47 in their car.

Those guys may be anti-social elements and it is not wise to get out of the car. A decent normal indian guy would not behave like this.

Where can I source a gun in bangalore?

Dudes.. First of all.. These hockey and bats dont help... If (God forbid)you are ever in a situation like this try to get away from that scene asap.. No one will help you..
It will be you with a Hockey against God knows who they are.. You never know what weapon he is carrying.
There is no harm in escaping.. No one will laugh at you or call you a coward.. Atleast you live to tell the story next day and live to be with your Family again..

Think about it.

Very true, Goddy.

Also, if you are outnumbered, you will end up at the wrong end of your own weapon.

Hockey sticks and baseball bats might help you win a battle, but you've already lost the war if you get down to their level.

I certainly think you could've done better. These days road rage is the rage. Why not just swallow one's pride and move on? The windshield is only your expense.

Ofc, I tend to retaliate and gesticulate heavily when I'm on the bike and sparse traffic. When i'm driving any car, I just gesture forward, shrug and smile that boss you are god.

What you mention is my worst traffic nightmare. I'm just happy for you that it didn't get worse. Two more stones and life would've been more expensive for you.

@Zenopio/LLL: Please get real. Unless you have body guard in your car with a licensed firearm, escalation NEVER helped anyone. There's enough road rage cases where heroes in cars got banged up real bad by a bunch of fellows. And what if they take it from you. Yes, keeping something doesnt hurt - but only in life or death situations. Why bring such a situation on, in the first place? and for a minor possible scratch?

Guys in Bangalore - be careful of wacko's on bike. There have been numerous incidences where certain gangs in bike fake a accident / get into an argument with people in car and rob them. Do not get out of the vehicle unless you are very sure of the area. Please be very careful.

Same thought - I wish I can lay my hands on one. But then, if allowed, we would be having 'Wild Wild West' on the Bangalore roads all the time!

Edit: A thought - is a Safari or a Scorpio better to ram into a vehicle, such as Sumo. I reckon a Scorpio would do very fine, isn't it?
