Sorry to hear that redfire, and even i dont think that the damage is small. Mostly they will replace the bumper as it appears to be torn from an angle. Cant say much about the rear quarter panel though. Whether they will repair or replace the same. Although i think a denting/ painting job should solve the purpose instead of cutting and welding. Btw didn't knew that the bumper comes reasonably priced.

sorry to hear about your car redfire. if it might help, I went through the kerala dmv site and only this number came up
KL-01-N-8813

Site says that it is a "Bajaj Pickup Van", with a seating capacity of 1 and calls it a "Hackny Carrier", so there is a high possiblity that I am wrong
Hope you catch the right fellow and get him to pay for your troubles.

Sad to see. These must be amongst the most frustrating accidents since someone else caused the accident for no fault of yours.

Sorry to hear about the accident redfire.
This is why I feel so happy when an auto driver gets caught by the traffic police. In chennai most of these morons dont even respect the traffic police, they simply wont stop and get caught by a bunch of policeman waiting at the next signal. This behavior ends up creating danger to the traffic on road. I have seen police accents chasing auto's and they are so desperate to escape that they dont even stop at signals. I wish auto's had speed limiters so these guys dont treat it as race cars.

Oops, getting rear ended always leaves a bad taste. I feel for you, redfire.

Claim insurance, total damages should be around 8k, out of which you might have to shell 1 to 1.5k, i think.

Sorry to see this mate!
However it looks like claimimng insurance will be the best choice.
I am not sure if you can claim 100% for tail lamp, but for bumper it is 50% only.

if you have Maruthi Insurance, I think it is only about Rs 500. I learnt that the hard way scraping the side of my car. There goes my no-claim bonus :(

We went to the dealers today morning. He'll get 50% for the plastic parts but there's a 5% depreciation on the metal parts since the car is more than 6 months old. And after 1 year the depreciation on the metal parts would be 10%. Insurance is with Royal Sundaram.

Whether to replace the quarter panel or not that is a question which will be answered within another few days. They will try to pull out the dent, if it comes out nice then that's it. If the panel doesn't come out clean as expected then it'll be replaced.
