For me, its around 70 to 80 mins per day now.
Morning: 30 mins
Evening: 40 to 50 mins
With ever decreasing civic sense of Pune people & conversion of roads into potholes, usually I prefer taking a cab with occasional self drives to office.

Few years back, it used to be 2+ hours (mostly highway). But it was more peaceful drive than today's 80 mins for sure.

Office is 4.2 Kms - takes about 15 minutes one side through internal roads of Thane. The internal roads are just filled with way too many speed breakers hence half the time I take slightly longer route so that I can stretch the legs of my 320D and the engine warms up nicely by the time I reach office.

Mornings are good but in evening I put a conscious effort to start early around 5 PM to dodge the evening traffic else same distance would easily take 30 minutes.

Travel to work in Mumbai, my office is 10kms one way from Vile Parle to Ghatkopar so I have to take the dreaded route that runs directly under the Andheri Ghatkopar Metro!

On Bike - Takes me around 30mins to office and 45 mins on the way back in evening traffic

In Car - 45 mins in the morning and anywhere between 1-1.5 hrs to cover the same 10kms in evening rush hour traffic

I live in Chennai.

Distance - 8 kms.

Till last year I used to travel by scooter which usually takes less than 30 mins parking to parking under any traffic conditions.

But nowadays I take metro - Ashok Nagar > Alandur > Nandanam and back which takes me about 45 mins one way.

But I will take this any day over the less than 30 min ride by scooter.

My Daily office Commute in Bangalore is around 60 KMs to my office. I always drive. Morning it takes around 30 mins while evenings range between 40 - 50 mins.

My office commute in Mumbai involves total road trip of 44 KMs using own car. When i have to travel to office location which is nearby to my home, i prefer to use Metro and share Autorickshaw.

Did I read 60? This might be a record for Bangalore. It takes similar time for me to cover 5km one way. Curious to know your route.

Sorry my bad its 60 kms round trip, 30 km each way. This is towards Mysore road, a combination of NICE Road and Mysore Highway hence less traffic.

My commute is 8km from work to home but 10km the other way due to a long U turn.

I go to work ~ 2 PM and back at ~11 PM ( just before the ORR is cordoned off for metro work) and it takes about 40 mins ( in total) on a good day, 45-50 mins on average and anywhere between 1-2 hours on bad days.

However the good part is it is an ORR to ORR commute so google maps is very reliable and I usually don't need to worry about getting stuck on inner roads.

Since I lost my bike, I'm now commuting by bus and it takes roughly 4-4.5 hours each day.

Using the scooter it takes about 25-30 mins using the internal roads/gullys.

Car/Bike - 30 minutes to 60 minutes.
Bike + Metro - 1.5 Hours

My office commute is ~18 KMs one side in Pune, Maharashtra and I have to report 3 days every week. Spending close to an hour in chaotic traffic is challenging sometimes. So I take the option of Metro wherein first ~4 KMs I have to ride my bike to the station (Vanaz) then ride it for ~ 50 minutes to reach the destination station (Kalyani Nagar) and then a 10 minutes walk to the office. Hopefully my office starts a shuttle soon to and from the metro station.

Although metro option takes much longer its a good one when weather is favourable and if I don't have any hurry to reach office.

Post monsoons it’s taking around 40-50 mins when I leave at 9:30am. And in the evenings, when I leave around 7-ish it takes about the same. On lucky days when I leave at 6:30 it takes around 35 mins. But on days when I leave post 7 it takes up to an hour too.

So glad to see so many responses with commute time of less than 30 minutes!

I am curious to know about the people who have voted for more than 4 hours. Initially, when I created the thread - I kept this option mainly for people who travel cities, like many people live in Pune and have office in Mumbai! (around 4-hour one way, that makes it 7-9 hours daily!!).
