AFIK, this is possible currently only with ICICI & IDFC fastags and not generally available with the others fasttags. It is possible to link the HP app with the fastag as well

Park+ has some arrangement for fuel payments (don't recall what that was).

I closed the paytm fastag yesterday and ordered a ICICI fastag at the same time. Today, the ICICI tag was approved (I suppose the min KYC done, I'm not in receipt of the physical tag) and I was able to link the fastag with the HP pay app. No experience with actual payment though.

Thanks. I have gone ahead with the IDFC First Bank Fastag. They have a dedicated App for it and the same features are accessible via a Portal as well. Post payment immediately the details have appeared on the App/Portal. I went with the same for both my cars and it is already visible as Active with Tag numbers displayed in the portal. Need to see how long it takes for Physical Delivery of the tag.

Below is a screenshot of the Dashboard.

They also seem to have a Common Pool and ability to transfer from one tag to another.
Need to see how it works once I recharge it.

Hello vsrivatsa. I had a query regarding IDFC Fastag. As I understand, you got this Fastag for two cars and linked both Fastags to the same "pool" or "wallet". Is this possible even if both vehicles are belonging to different people?

I am asking this since I want to switch away from Paytm, which I was currently using for my car and my dad's car. I was first looking at ICICI. But their helpline just confirmed that I will not be able to link the second vehicle's Fastag to the common "pool" or "wallet" unless I visit a PoS location or agent located at a toll booth; which I find to be very inconvenient.

I also wanted to know, are you an existing IDFC Bank customer? If no, what made you prefer IDFC over any other issuer?

Thanks in advance.

Don't see any option like that specifically. Having said that I am not sure how they validate if the request for the second vehicle's Fastag is raised after logging in to the same account.

I do have an IDFC First Bank Credit Card - but not a Bank Account but that is not a reason for going for it.

If you scroll back a few postings, I had asked here on the Fastag features - ICICI and IDFC First seems to be the only Fastags with all 3 capabilities - Toll Payment, Parking as well as Fuel Payment. So shortlisted on ICICI and IDFC and then decided to go with IDFC First Bank. Between the two, I went with IDFC expecting a faster processing time given how popular ICICI is...(assuming IDFC First Bank would have lesser Fastag Load as compared to ICICI Bank)

Re: PayTM FASTag: Are you keeping it or ditching it?

Summary:
Closed Paytm tag, applied for HDFC tag.

Details:
Paytm deactivated the tag and refunded Rs 400 within 6 days of raising the closure request, without needing to remind nor escalate. Paytm fastag was a very good experience from start till end.

Tried odering SBI tag online. Payment failed. Though there a an option to retry payment, it never worked. Nor could I start a fresh application for the same vehicle number. Their helpline suggested getting a Fastag from their POS outlets or a toll plaza.

Tried ordering Axis tag online. Payment succeeded but was not mapped against my application - hence refunded. Tried again, same result.

Tried ordering Kotak tag online. Maybe because my mobile number is associated with an old closed account, it did not allow to proceed saying "update KYC at nearest brabch to enjoy Kotak Fastag benefits".

Went to nearest Axis branch, and was told they would sell me a Fastag only if I had an account with them (Citibank account iwould not be sufficient).

Went to Axis branch in CBD (formerly Citibank branch). They said they don't sell Fastags OTC (though their website and helpdesk say Fastags can be bought from their branches) and redirected me to the same online portal which had failed me twice.

Went to Kotak branch. They sad that they sell fastags only for commercial vehicles at the branch (though their website and helpdesk say VC4 tags are also sold). They did not even listen - far less understand - to my query regarding KYC pending for my mobile number.

Tried ordering a HDFC tag through the Paytm app. In their interface, DOB field has no option to choose year and month -. only < to go back month by month. Aborted that effort.

Finally applied for a HDFC tag through their own online interface.

Re: PayTM FASTag: Are you keeping it or ditching it?

Hi all, amidst the Paytm fiasco I decided that the sooner one replaces the Fastag, the better it'll be. So went ahead and ordered an ICICI Fastag through Amazon Pay.
Now the biggest challenge was safely removing the old tag, and it wasn't easy. Tried multiple things and finally found success after a couple of attempts.
First went in with water, then colin, then alcohol based cleaner, nothing seemed to help
Finally went in with Nail Polish Remover, and this happened to make a difference. The glue residue was the easy part. But the metal conductor material at the center was the toughest. Along with half bottle of this, 45 minutes into and a lot of Elbow Grease later, finally removed the residue from the windshield, so much so that I thumb started to ache at the end of this. But the job was clean and I was happy. Didn't want to use a razor was it could hurt me as well as chances it could damage the windshield
Anyone got a better idea how this can be done? As I have other vehicles which might need replacing the tag in the near future. Appreciate the support.

I raised the closure request on Feb 9, 2024. The app shows "Closure initiated".

I already bought an ICICI Fastag. When I check in their mobile app I see 2 ACTIVE fastags (Paytm and ICICI). We have the new rule of One Vehicle One Fastag kicking in from March 1.

I am little worried that both my tags would blacklist post March 1.
Only the latest fastag will remain active. I have attached the link and a screenshot of the economictimes article mentioning the same.

I too tried Colin once, but didn't help. Then after watching in YouTube, generously applied WD40, wiped of with tissue paper by pressing hard. I was also not looking to use blade or something that can scratch.

Re: PayTM FASTag: Are you keeping it or ditching it?

I went on a drive from Bangalore to Coorg and a couple of toll booths displayed my Paytm Fastag as "blacklisted" for some time and then magically deducted the toll amount and passed. It was such a strange experience and the toll booth employees had no clue too. After getting back, I wanted to change the fastag as soon as possible but also wanted to know what is going to happen after Feb 29 if I didn't do anything.

What happens to all the existing PayTM Payments bank fastags after February? Do they get ported over to some other provider automatically or do we need to manually close the current PayTM fastag account and open another manually? It'd be such a mess if it is the latter.

If you have an existing Fastag from ICICI, it is possible to issue a new Tag in the same wallet using their web interface (not sure if possible using app). From the user login page of your existing Fastag Wallet, go to >Help Desk> Raise Request/ Complaint. Select "Request/ Complaint" under Type and "Add on Tag under Same Cust ID" under Sub-type.

After that, follow the rest of the steps for issue of new Tag under same wallet. I have got this confirmed by ICICI Customer service.

Re: PayTM FASTag: Are you keeping it or ditching it?

Since there does not seem to be any hope for Paytm Fastags, I shifting to HDFC.

Signing up was seamless and since my primary account and credit card is with HDFC, KYC was seamless. I am also familiar with Payzapp, mycards, etc. to manage the Fastag easily.

Received the HDFC Fastag in Bangalore in 3 days (dispatched from Mumbai via Bluedart). Paytm is still in 'closure initiated' state, so hopefully no issues when I travel this weekend.

Re: PayTM FASTag: Are you keeping it or ditching it?

I seem to have run into an issue in my quest to close the PayTM Fast tag. I had withdrawn the balance and placed the closure request for the tag last week.

Finally, today I see that the tag is marked as closed. However, now when I try to apply for a new Amazon ICICI Fast tag, I get the message that the vehicle has a Fast tag that has been blacklisted.

On the NPCI website, I see that my used car had a tag previously from Axis bank, and it has the following comment on it:

"Please recharge your tag since your tag is Hotlisted or in negative balance. For further details contact your bank."

Has someone else here faced this issue? I am not exactly sure how to approach this since it's a tag used by the previous owner of the car.

I am not aware of any process that can help remove the tag from blacklisted state and besides I am not wondering how Paytm provided me a Fast Tag when I applied for it in 2021.

Better to contact Axis Bank FASTag CC @ 18004198585 or email - etc.management@axisbank.com and check for the process.

Re: PayTM FASTag: Are you keeping it or ditching it?

Hi Team,

I have a BH series 4 wheeler and had a PayTM FasTag. I closed my PayTM Fastag very conveniently within no time but I am stuck on new FasTag procurement from ICICI portal. ICICI Fastag portal rejects my car registration number as soon as I enter my registration details starting with 23BHxxxxY format(attached).

Question: has anyone with BH series registration tried switching to ICICI Fastag? If yes, could you guide on how to complete this formality of registration number of 21/22/23BHxxxxY ? Else, I would try using any other bank.

I now realize how convenient PayTM was designed and implemented. Just a wish that they complied with all RBI directives.

Re: PayTM FASTag: Are you keeping it or ditching it?

Hi JithinR - The best method to remove a fast tag or any other sticker from the windshield is the heat method. By this method, stickers can be softened and removed using heat. For this, apply your hairdryer to the sticker for one to two minutes, using the maximum heating range available. After the sticker has been heated, quickly lift the corner and softly peel it away from the glass surface. Wipe any leftovers with warm water or any other cleaning agent using a microfiber cloth.

The other option I used was to use baking soda. All you have to do is mix some baking soda with half a cup of any cooking oil. Mix the solution and apply it to the sticker. Allow it to soak before peeling the sticker away from the edges. Peel it away using your fingertips, a plastic card, or any plastic scraper.

Check out these two methods. I utilized the heating procedure to remove the 3M sticker used to affix the dashcam.
