Since, you have both can you recommend which one shall be better one to go with? Please do share how the experience is with both
I ordered my HDFC fastag (PayTM replacement tag if you call it). Ordered for Rs. 150/- after a discount of Rs. 100 by PayTM coupon and it carried a Rs. 50 balance. I received it today. To check, I recharged it by PayTM itself. Just went to PayTM recharge> Select issuing bank (HDFC in this case)> input vehicle number and then add money. You can use PayTM wallet money to recharge if you have balance lying there. This searching of tag is one time activity. Once you recharge, it gets added to fastag list in PayTM and then you can recharge it quickly next time. You can also use HDFC portal to recharge it by logging through mobile number or vehicle number. It's easy, however not as seamless or convenient like PayTM wallet. I don't know if I can create a common wallet if I add more fastags to this account.

You can. I got 2 HDFC tags from through Paytm. Luckily both the tags got linked to one mobile number as I had previously provided only one mobile number whilst ordering the tags.

I can order additional tags from their online portal and the best part is that it works in a similar fashion like Patym. All vehicles are linked to a common wallet and there is no need for individual recharges. Obviously recharges are not as convenient as Paytm but having a single wallet is still better off than recharging multiple different fastags.

How do you create the wallet? Pls tell us more about this as it seems to simplify things at users end. Thanks.

Nice tip. Tried this. Had 600 in Paytm wallet and did the hdfc fastag recharge via your method. Worked instantly and hdfc fastag was recharged at the same moment. I believe this is an easier way to recharge via Paytm than hdfc portal. We can use credit card to recharge both ways.

All payment apps and bank apps now have option to recharge Fastag of all banks. No need to worry about bank or login to a bank portal specifically to recharge Fastag. AmazonPay, Cred, PayTM, Gpay all have the option, mostly under 'Pay Bills'. It does not matter which bank Fastag you own.

Earlier it used to be YourRegNumber@netc to use upi to recharge it.

Even now the upi handle for FASTag linked to vehicle registration number works fine and the format is netc.<vehiclenumber>@<fastagproviderbank>
For ICICI FASTag - netc.KA01XXYYYY@icici

So I ordered Airtel fastags for two of my cars on Friday, March 15 through the Airtel Thanks app. The first order went through fine, and I could see order listed on the site with an "In Progress" status. Sometime later, I placed the order for the second car, made the payment which was shown as successful, but no track of this order anywhere other than the transaction history where the amount was deducted.

I got an SMS the same day saying the fastag request has been validated successfully, but only for the first order.

It's been 5 days now, and there is no indication of the fastag being issued or shipped. And till now there is no reference to the second order. I checked the NPCI fastag status checking website, and sure enough the fastag hasn't been issued for both cars, as of this morning.

I emailed them at wecare@airtelbank.com, but I just got standard boiler plate response saying the fastag will be delivered within 14 working days!!

Wondering whether I made the wrong choice with Airtel Fastags.

March 15 came and went and there wasn't any lifeline thrown to PPBL by RBI or the courts, so I decided to move on.

Created the Equitas Fastag account (https://fastag.equitasbank.com) online on Friday 15/3.

Tried ordering tags for my two cars on the same day. They have only two modes of payment for new tags - DC (not CC) or Netbanking. I opted for Netbanking, HDFC - which, at the end of the payment loop, threw me out of the application with the money gone from my account and "Payment Failure" status on the Fastag order details page.

Thought it would work out fine if I waited overnight, after some reconciliation process was completed. No go. Next morning (Saturday) I raised two complaints on the portal. To their credit, I got a callback within 2 hours, but the lady advised me to raise fresh orders because any amount deducted would only be refunded. So I did that and this time, opted for debit card payment. Thankfully order was placed successfully.

Tags were dispatched on Monday 18/3 and I received them yesterday (Tuesday). Both the tags were mailed in the same envelope; with a boilerplate A4 sheet with instructions on how to place the tag, on which someone had written with a biro which tag is for which car. Cost-cutting?

Haven't pasted the tags yet or removed the Paytm ones. Will do all that during the weekend, with a trial drive also planned (BETL or Devanahalli; trying to convince the wife to come out for dinner at IPC).

The default wallet is the basic KYC one; with 10K monthly limit. I went to their HSR Layout branch on Saturday (16/3) for full KYC. Filled the form and submitted with Aadhaar and PAN copies. On Sunday I got an SMS that KYC has been rejected. Thankfully the branch manager had given me his number; so messaged him first thing on Monday asking, huh? Quickly enough a lady from the branch called me to inform me that my name in PAN and Aadhaar have a mismatch (there is a middle name in Aadhaar which is absent in PAN). I find this extreme nitpicking and abuse of the leeway RBI allows banks in the KYC process. My PAN and Aadhaar are linked to each other; so when none of the other agencies (IT Dept, not to mention 4 other banks and numerous NBFCs) had a problem with the missing middle name why is Equitas so bothered?

They said they will submit the form with explanation for re-evaluation of KYC. Let us see.

Any particular reason for choosing Equitas Fastag? I wasn't aware of this option until your post. Since you have two cars, does it come with a common shared wallet?

Looks like they finally issued the fastag for the first order. I can now see the fastag as active on the NPCI website, and in the Airtel app it now shows the tag id. I also got a notification from Delhivery about the shipment.

However, the 2nd order is still in limbo.

They are long known as a very quick and easy Fastag provider. As mentioned in my previous post, I got my tags in hand within two business days of applying. There are many satisfied experiences reported here in Team-BHP itself.

The wallet is common, but you have to move money into tag account from wallet account like it is with ICICI. Or recharge tags directly via the netc.[vehicle no]@equitas UPI VPA. In which case you could move money from tag account to wallet should you desire to do so. They have a dedicated mobile app for all this.

While I was typing the above message the SMS telling me my KYC has been accepted came in. So I'm all set.

Re: PayTM FASTag: Are you keeping it or ditching it?

I have recently applied for a fastag from ICICI through iMobile and this has led to creation of two customer IDs!! While one of the responses above suggests doing it through netbanking I am not sure which customer ID they will link it to. Have written to them so let's see what the response is. Given that many people have faced this challenge, I am hoping that they have internally figured something out.

As regards one wallet for multiple cars, there is a detailed user guide on their site which is pretty useful. TBH, if they had spent the same amount of energy getting the base product right, it would have saved them the effort of creating this magnum opus!

A snapshot for reference. Link to the user menu https://fastaglogin.icicibank.com/CU...omerPortal.pdf

A small caveat in a good alternate. I shall see if it’s the right fit.
A question if i may ask.? If i close my fastag on paytm. Can i reissue a new one immediately or i need to wait till the closure is complete ( previous fastag balance is refunded)

You can order a replacement right away, and close the PayTM tag once you receive the new one.

The system lets you have only one Tag at a time for that specific Registered Vehicle Number (I hope so), so the previous one's automatically gets closed but you have to deal with the issuing bank to get the refund from the account or wallet.

PayTM FASTag: Are you keeping it or ditching it?-fastag.jpg

In my case the Axis bank fastag was issued but their customer care informed that delivery will take 10-14 days and I directly went and ordered fastag from IDFC.

My Park+ tag was delivered but it never got activated it seems, great service from Park+ team

You can check the Fastag status in here

Helpful! I just checked. And though i closed my tag on 14th it still shows active. I will wait for a few days more. Once the refund reaches my wallet i shall order the new one.
