How to remove an old challan from my vehicle? Hi everyone,
I am trying to sell my car in Pune but facing some hurdles. There is currently a challan on the car from a 2019 drink and drive case, with the status “Sent to court” in red text in the Maharashtra eChallan website.
The case was cleared in court in 2019, the driver acquitted and this info is clear in the court case document available in the ecourts website. Currently the amount is not displayed in the challan, but Rs. 2000/- was paid in court. (Fine was lower in 2019, and also the case was contested successfully instead of being accepted).
However, car buyers like Cars24 and Spinny maintain that this challan still needs to be updated or cleared in order for them to proceed with the purchase. I have checked at the following places but no one seems to have an answer on what to do.
1. District and Sessions Court, Pune – multiple motor vehicle court officials and lawyers
2. Traffic police station where the FIR was originally filed
3. DCP office – zone 4 Yerwada
4. RTO Pune
I would like to know the following:
1. After a drink and drive case that gets sent to court is cleared, does the status of the corresponding challan on the vehicle also get updated? Does the colour of the "Sent to court" status change to green?
2. If there is an update needed, who exactly can effect this kind of change?
If anyone can provide an example screenshot that would strongly be appreciated! Thanks in advance. |
