I know all that. What I meant is that the number MH-12-3456, when written on a plate like this:

This is a Tier III fancy number - costs Rs. 20,000 minimum (if there are multiple applicants for the same number then highest bidder wins). These are not released to the regular first-come-first-served registrants.

Good afternoon team, saw this santro in Sector 27 Noida in morning today, More than being weird or funny this mistake makes the Registration number totally ILLEGAL. It is a big offence and invalidates the number on the face of it.

@WWW -- This one belongs to the ruling party and it is no surprise to see this attitude of not respecting the law. I'm 100% sure that no cop would have dared to stop him for this violation.
One more for the thread.
One of the loveliest number i have seen is AP 9 AP 9. Used to see this plate regularly at Somajiguda, Hyderabad (till 2007) The plate neatly decorates a Mercedes Benz E class !
