Longest Drives!

My longest drive would be :

Delhi - Shimla - Kulu - Manali - Kulu - Chandigarh - Delhi

1200 kms approx and a 5 day trip with stays at Shimla, Kulu & Manali.

My longest was 2400 kms in 4 days. It was the most enjoyable of all drives I have done till date (well, with the exception of Hyderabad - Goa)

First leg: Hyderabad - Bangalore- Salem - Dindigul _ Munnar

Return leg: Munnar - Coimbatore -Salem -Bangalore - Hyderabad

My longest road trip was about 10,000 miles (~16,000 km) across the US.

Dallas --> Phoenix, AZ --> Las Vegas, NV --> SFO, CA --> LA, CA --> flew to Denver, CO --> flew to Boise, ID --> flew to Minneapolis, MN --> Madison, WI --> Indianapolis, IN --> Bloomington, IL --> Madison, WI --> Milwaukee, WI --> Chicago, IL --> Grand Rapids, MI --> Akron, OH --> Columbus, OH --> Pittsburgh, PA --> Philadelphia, PA --> Newport, NJ --> New York, NY --> Boston, MA --> Cape Elizabeth, Maine --> Boston, MA --> Charlotte, NC --> Atlanta, GA --> Jacksonville, FL --> Orlando, FL --> Tampa, FL.

The total trip took about 5 weeks. Planning another one soon with more cities added to the list the next time around.

My longest drive was 6467 kms in 17 days in a Honda City:

Ranchi-Sambalpur-Nagpur-Nasik-Mumbai-Alibaug-Kashid-Diveagar-Harnai-Tarkarli-Goa-Karwar-Manipal-Mangalore-Sakleshpur-Belur-Halebeedu-Bangalore-Chennai-Bangalore-Chittoor-Rajmundary-Vishakhapatnam-Bhubaneswar-Rairangpur-Jamshedpur-Ranchi

My longest ride was 3200 kms in 6 days in a RE Classic 500:

Pune-Mumbai-Ahmedabad-Palanpur-Jaisalmer-Tanot-Longewala-Sam-Jaisalmer-Tharad-Dasada-Little Rann of Kutch-Ahmedabad-Mumbai-Pune

Today, I just broke my previous record !

I drove 550 KM from Madanapalle [ Southernmost AP to Hyderabad] which took my Swift a full 8 Hour drive with a one hour break for lunch at Kurnool and some little pitstops for various other reasons.
The route I took was Madanapalle - Ananthapuramu - Kurnool - Hyderabad [ Madanapalle to Ananthapuram was a 2 lane with decent traffic but the remaining part was a cake walk ! ]
This is succeeded by Hyderabad to Kadapa which is 420 KM for which I took 6.5 hours that was made 2 days ago !

Couple of long drives I can think of :

Madurai --> Rameswaram --> Madurai --> Bangalore - About 780KM in Maruti Alto LXI - 4 passengers. Took about 11 hours with food/bio breaks in between

Bangalore --> Coimbatore --> Bangalore ; Total roundtrip distance of about 700+ km with few hours break in Coimbatore.

Can you please update the respective threads with the current road conditions of the places you travelled? There are not many updates on the above mentioned destinations.

I have driven Chennai - Mumbai with a night halt @ Kolhapur
Day 1: 1000 Kms (4am to 6pm) Chennai - Kolhapur
Day 2: 400 Kms (6am to 1pm) Kolhapur - Mumbai (Malad -west)

Same way did a reverse:
Mumbai - Tumkur (Night halt)
Tumkur - Chennai

Driven my work horse - Vista QJD with family.
Have done this stretch a couple of times.

Our longest drive was from Surat to Palakkad, a total distance of 1694 km covered in under 2 days.

Day 1 - Departed Surat at 3:30 AM and reached Hubli around 6 PM after several halts. We could have stretched it a bit more perhaps till Davangere but for the room we had booked at Hubli for the overnight halt.

Day 2 - Departed Hubli at 5:30 AM and reached Palakkad at 7:30 PM.

That trip really was some experience! Just 2 of us and we loved every bit of it.

My Longest drive came during the recent festive season.

Pune -> Hyd -> Narsipatnam -> local sightseeing @ Narsipatnam -> Vijayawada -> Hyd -> Pune.

This trip was done over 9 days covering ~2700kms in my Fabia.

Bangalore -> Kurnool -> Alampoor -> Hyderabad -> Kukkunoor -> Bhadrachalam -> Kukkunoor -> Nuzivedu -> Vizag -> Vijayawada -> Chennai -> Bangalore

Total Distance: 2560 KM
Total Days: 4 days
No. Of Drivers: Me alone :(

I used to be doing quite a bit of Pune-Bangalore-Pune over the past 4 months. Over the Christmas/New year week end I did this very long drive, over 5 days.

Pune-Mumbai-Ahmedabad-Jodhpur - Jaisalmer - Sam - Jaisalmer - Udaipur - Amedabad - Mumbai - Pune - a total of 3200 = KM's, in my Safari. I was the lone driver with my family and music for company. Loved the roads, the winters and the drive.
