As BHPians, we obviously live to drive! A lot of us frowned during the lockdown because we couldn't take our steeds out. Well, the good news is that most Indian States have opened up and are allowing intrastate / interstate travelling.

I can tell you, there is quite nothing like redlining a car after a lull of ~2 - 3 months. Let's celebrate just that on this thread.

Please share pics of your post-lockdown highway drives. On the other hand, if you haven't already, do take your car / bike out as much as local laws permit (related thread). You deserve it after being holed up at home .

Shot yesterday, in my 6-cylinder remapped beast:


One of the first in June, when we could head out. Sure felt special because of the long gap:

No prizes for guessing this car! It was easily one of my most memorable drives in the recent past, thanks to that turbo-petrol & sorted dynamics. In India, redlining a sorted ~100 BHP car is as much fun as a ~500 BHP one:

I did a couple of drives and planning a few more. I did one a few weeks back with my dad beyond Bangalore airport and back.

Since we didn't want to get out for tea or snacks we took food along and a hot flask with chai.

Couldn't take a pic with the car as it was pouring but perfect weather for a chai sitting in the car with the panoramic sunroof glass rain on top.

Here's a bhpian and I after corner carving in blinding fog of Sahyadri ghats. We had some work pertaining to land sale in the Konkan belt and used that as an opportunity to do a nice road trip. Packed our breakfast, coffee and water. The only contact we had with people was when we purchased sandwiches at a restaurant and for the unavoidable refuelling breaks.

A little fun in the mud off Khapoli. A highway drive after 4 months with lots of off-road. Managed to damage the rear bumper as well which was promptly fixed the next day.

Son wanted to go chasing rainbows, we got lucky to see four of them on our first drive and cherry on the cake, we go to see two rainbows together. Little kid was jumping with joy, nature can really help in healing your soul.

Posting one click from our return journey via NH16 from Mandarmani beach back in July, it was a rain drive I enjoyed the most on the highway and understood how a cars weight helps keep it stable when going over those waterlogged areas of the highway. Unable to redline much since it makes the kid vomit, lessons learnt the hard way, the acceleration in the 2.8 diesel Innova Crysta is brutal.





And prior to that I had gone to Cyclone Amphan relief distribution to a village, the idea of driving with windows down in a rain drenched Village road with the smell of the flora and fauna is just astonishing. It's not a regular highway but in village standard it's the Autobahn of the locality

Loved your Dad's smile & tshirt . That is really the only thing I miss about highway runs now. The delicious food at Dhabas or the tasty misal-pav @ Buvachi. What I wouldn't give for a sumptuous lunch with cheese garlic naan, spicy kolhapuri & paneer tikka @ Sunny's Dhaba.
