Re: Who is your preferred FASTag provider?

So I closed my Paytm Fastag a few days ago. Was a fairly simple process. Got full refund in 6 days flat. And purchased the Amazon Pay Fastag. Since I am a Prime member, I liked their 1% return in wallet for every toll paid per month. Fingers crossed and hope its a seamless experience as I have had a nightmare with ICICI years ago when Fastag launched(I am also an ICICI customer.) Their customer service was an absolute disaster. The Paytm was flawless and worked 100% of the time with zero issues. It just worked. In fact there was just one case of an erroneous deduction, I got refunded quite swiftly. If the AP Fastag isn't seamless I will switch back to Paytm as they have begun migrating to HDFC for their Fastag needs. I learnt the same when you go to the app and apply for new Fastag it shows the HDFC logo instead of the PPBL one.

Hope for the best!

From what I understood, the backend of both Phonepe and Amazon Fastags are managed by ICICI. The former two being more like partners / channels for marketing / sales. When you click on the buy option, you will ultimately be directed to ICICI portal.

I had half a mind to buy from Amazon, given the cashback initiative and pay from Amazon wallet feature. But then I read somewhere that the deductions aren't happening from the Amazon wallet and the ICICI helpline had no clue about the Amazon-ICICI Fastag.

Since I am an existing ICICI customer, I decided to buy from them directly. Initiated the process through the web banking portal and then completed the RC copy upload steps on the ICICI Fastag portal. I had initiated these steps and the Paytm Fastag closure on 22nd Feb. ICICI kept me updated on the progress through regular SMS updates. Their helpline was also quite prompt in answering my queries when I was still making up my mind.

The latest status is that my new Fastag is on the way from Hyderabad and is expected to arrive by the 26th Feb.

Amazon just changed their FAQs and now they no longer claim that the toll amount will be deducted automatically from the Amazon Pay wallet. I just ordered 4 fastags for me, my parents, and my in-laws believing Amazon's claim that ICICI fastag will deduct from Amazon Pay balance

Auto recharge using credit card is not an option. I have 2 ICICI credit cards but do not have a savings account with them. I do not get any option when I try to select a debit account.

I got 4 Amazon Pay ICICI fastags last week thinking all 4 of them will use the Amazon Pay balance as was advertised by Amazon last week. Now that Amazon Pay wallet is not an option, I will have to recharge all 4 of the tags seperately. ICICI doesn't even have a single unified wallet that my 4 ICICI fastags that are all registered under my mobile number can tap into. What a hassle!!

Re: Who is your preferred FASTag provider?

I bought an Airtel FASTag after many consideration because they offer direct debit from my Airtel Bank for all my cars, eliminating the need for separate recharges. All I have to do is load the amount in my Airtel payment, and the payment will be distributed for all my cars.

I purchased it at a highway toll booth vendor, and it was activated instantly. They didn't ask for the RC copy, just the vehicle number and OTPs. I had my Airtel Payment Bank ready beforehand by completing KYC. I paid 100 at the toll booth and also recharged 500 in the Airtel wallet, Rs.150 automatcially allocated as a security amount for the FASTag.

This is so simlar to paytm wallet so far so good.

I applied for this on 19 Feb, but still didn't receive any update. When trying to reach them thru the app it still lands me again in the same above page. Getting tired of waiting for their so called sms in 48 hours,

Airtel : I will never opt for them, they are simply one of the biggest scamsters and fraudsters - many comments in this thread is the proof !

ICICI : No trust in them

HDFC : Their UI sucks !

A late reply. I been dealing with Park+ for non Fastag related product of theirs -Vehicle RFID tags for apartment gate management.

I have found their interactions to be highly unprofessional. Their ground team is good, but very much overloaded. However, their finance team located at Gurugram works at their own pace and any query / resolution takes months of follow up.

Re: Who is your preferred FASTag provider?

Hi,

I have 4 vehicles with fastag from Paytm and got to close them all now. Could someone suggest me an app like Paytm where I can load the wallet and all my vehicles can use the wallet balance to pass through tolls without needing to recharge them individually? Except Airtel fastag.

Browsed through this thread and couldn't get a clear solution.

TIA

I'm currently encountering a similar situation. I believe that ICICI, through its Pockets app, and HDFC, through its PayZapp, should provide similar functionality. However, I'm facing challenges with both apps at the moment. ICICI requires a complete biometric KYC process to make it fully functional, while with PayZapp, I'm struggling to link it to a non-HDFC bank account.

Yup, same in here. Seeing the post in here went to Park + but they seem to be worst of all. Finally, I have placed a request with Axis, and it seems the process has started (allocated the wallet, activated the wallet and the Tag is being sent it seems) yet to receive the courier details though.

Not only HDFC, ICICI but Axis is also asking all kinds of unnecessary things - Vehicle front photo, Side photo, Whether I am married, my political orientation and all

Paytm was a bliss compared to all this headache !

Latest Update :

Park+ : They sent me an email giving me the tracking id and they have sent it through Bludart and delivery is today !!!

Who is your preferred FASTag provider?-bludart.jpg
Axis : Called the support center to get the tracking details but their system is not yet updated with the details it seems, asked me to call after 2-3 working days - hell with them going to close this !

Note : (To Mods) --- I think we all have gone out of the topic, kindly transfer the posts to the relevant thread (PayTM FASTag: Are you keeping it or ditching it?) & sorry for the inconvenience.

Apart from Airtel, there is no other bank-provided wallet kind of method. Even I was in search, and finally, I bought Airtel for two of my cars and am yet to buy one more. So far, it's good.

Re: Who is your preferred FASTag provider?

i sold two cars in my name to vibrant nissan hyderabad in march 23 and bought magnite .
they managed to sell those two cars somewhere in july 23 and sent me copies of RTA RC in the name of new buyers . I forgot to remove icici fast tag sickers in both the cars which were tagged to two of my phone numbers.

I did not mind the balance in my icici fast tag used by someone else. But till today when i log in to icici fast tag site both the old cars tagged to my phone numbers. My complaint in the site did not help. They are not closing.

I am not debited by my banker. But new user is using the same tag I suppose. I do not know. Whether I will have any liability after almost one year? somebody in the forum can advise me whether to leave it or how to solve the problem,

What is the reason for them not closing the tag? Did you track the closure request and see the comments on it? I sold my car last month, raised a request on ICICI portal for closure of the tag, it was closed within a day and the entire balance + deposit refunded within 10 days. As such there was no requirement to physically detach or destroy the tag (though the person taking the car removed the tag and handed it back to me at the time of transfer).

Re: Who is your preferred FASTag provider?

Going by the post it seems everyone used the Paytm Wallet at least here for Fastag only. I too use to use them for this purpose only that it was easier to auto distribute the balance to all my cars.

HDFC interface is very very poor and not linked to Cards.
ICICI no trust in them
SBI very fear of sorting out issues gives me nightmares

I walked in to branch of following banks and non of them had Fastag available for distribution or activation this is Phase 10 Mohali, 160062 ( incase respective Cluster heads are reading)

1) Axis (being previous Citi Customer - no integration at Branch )
2) SBI
3) HDFC

Given above posts Airtel Bank Wallet seems ideal option.

Yeah. I too see that now. Will Paytm also transfer the existing tags to HDFC or one needs to close current and buy new? Is not clear. I will wait for a week, hope things will be more clear.
